    First ever CCFC memories ?

My first game was as an evening game against Arsenal in August 1972. I remember entering the stadium where the image of the floodlights, the green grass and noise of the crowd immediately won me over. I don't remember the actual game particularly other than it finished 1-1. The 11v11.com site is...

    Chants of old...And new

Yes it was played at the end of the film, 'They shall not grow old'. A film I would recommend watching to anyone whose not seen it. I defy anyone watching it to not to be moved to tears.

    FA cup match v Stoke

Is there really that much in it? Sterling's been a flop this season at Wigan, whereas Grimmer was one of Wycombe's top players as they reached the top of our league. Their subsequent decline has coincided with Grimmer getting injured. Its irrelevant anyway, as Dabo is light years ahead of both.

City players who were panned, or not rated by most, but who you quite liked

I'm not sure Scowcroft was ever an out and out striker like Morrell was, and I think before moving to the wing he had mostly played in a deep lying number 10 role (if you know what I mean).

City players who were panned, or not rated by most, but who you quite liked

Of course, but that applies to the youth system of any club. Only the best of the best make it through, most fall by the wayside. Doesn't mean we shouldn't get behind those youth players given their chance in the first team though, as those few that do succeed, make it so worthwhile for the club.

City players who were panned, or not rated by most, but who you quite liked

We'll have to disagree on him being a fans favourite. In my view he wasn't targeted by our fans because he so obviously gave his all, but that didn't make him a 'favourite'. I do agree that League 1 was probably his more natural level, but he did well there, the season after leaving us being top...

City players who were panned, or not rated by most, but who you quite liked

Morrell wasn't awful in my opinion. We signed him as a goalscorer and then proceeded to play him on the right wing. I don't remember him being 'hero worshipped' either. We have certainly had many far worse players.

City players who were panned, or not rated by most, but who you quite liked

Never been comfortable with stick given to home grown players, or those that you can see give their all, even if they might be limited. If people hide its a different matter, and I can particularly remember Runar Normann and Julian Gray being the worst examples of that, and fully deserving of...

Slow & Boring CCFC players - Take No Mandy

Not as slow as Kevin MacDonald maybe, but Jose Perdomo also moved at a snails pace. Also remember Darren Currie who must be close to being the slowest winger there's ever been.

Which City X1 has had the most international capped players within it?

Had a look through old programs from our relegation season and think it might be from our home game against Leicester, where we had 9 internationals in the starting XI and another coming off the bench. The team was Hedman (Sweden), Telfer (Scotland), Breen (Ireland), Konjic (Bosnia), Williams...

Which City X1 has had the most international capped players within it?

There were a lot of capped players in our Prem relegation season, but before that did Nilsson, McAllister & Strachan ever play in the same side?

    Chants of old...And new

'Your gonna get your fucking head kicked in' - There was a great article written in the West Ender fanzine commenting on a League Cup game at Grimsby when the local nutters were out in force looking to take us on, and the article started with the line, 'We knew we were in trouble when the family...

City Bosses Stupidly Fired - Take No Taxis

He was awful for us. The Sunderland netflix summary summed him up pretty well. Talks a good game, but its all bluster. Its a travesty that with the players he had playing for him that 17th was as high as we finished.

Video CLASSIC HIGHLIGHTS | Coventry City 3-2 Manchester City, 14th October 1972

Love it. I was 7 and this was my first season going to games. Wasn't at this one, but this was Stein & Hutchison's debut games for us. Selling Blockley and Quinton Young to bring those 2 in was one of our better pieces of business. What a player Willie Carr was too.

I was a ballboy at that match, although never touched the ball the whole 90 minutes. Still got the program somewhere signed by all the players.
