    Running

Northbrook are a good club, turn out in massive numbers for local events, and have their own 10km race. Possibly a little less focused on the big national events as Godiva, but they still turn out. I actually enquired about joining them but went for Godiva instead. There’s some fantastic events...

    Running

Went over to the Warwick Racecourse Parkrun this morning.... a fairly new one I think, only about 3 or 4 months old... a good course for speedsters and pb chasers.... apart from a hill at halfway (not too bad) it’s pancake flat... I ran a steady/lacklustre 19:27 despite the considerable ice...

**ALL USERS READ THIS, ACTION REQUIRED ASAP** - Sky Blues Talk forum statement

was fantastic in those days! Lost days at work on there... in the late days of GMK I’m pretty sure it was a completely independent site. Funnily enough the later days of GMK coincided with the earlier days of this place.... GMK was seen as a haven of SISU-loving lunatics by the vast majority...

    Running

half I think... rather than running a half marathon every weekend, as suggested above, I’d suggest sticking to something around 9-10 miles but trying to run a little (but not much) harder than race pace. You’ve already done a half before so don’t think there’s any issues regarding managing the...

    Lose the Gut Thread 2019!!

I am someone who weighed myself one xmas and was horrified to be 16st2 (around 102kg)..... and now walk round around 80kg (about 12 and a half stone).... If you want it to be a permanent loss of weight then it has to be a permanent change to your diet or lifestyle... fad diets don’t work in...

    Wasps Again

faor enough it does look a lot worse when you fully open the link... don’t get me wrong, I want Wasps to bugger off as much as anyone, and I very nearly jizzed my pants when Northampton scored that try at the end today... but I genuinely think this is more a case of unfortunate thought and...

    Wasps Again

I’m as willing to get stuck into Wasps as the next person... however I think particular event is way too blown out of proportion. it doesn’t take a genius to see that the “goal” is a good 10-15 yards away from the wall, and with obviously foam balls they aren’t going anywhere near the wall...

    Footballing what ifs

First season down, home to Norwich City.... (when Richie Partridge scored that screamer) what if we hadn’t conceded a goal through a massive deflection right near the end? A win in that match would have put us well clear in the automatic promotion places, albeit well before xmas, but I’m...

    Running

Good day out at the Warks cross country champs... Godiva with individual golds in the senior U17 and U20 races, and team gold in one of them. I think team gold in one of the girls U17/U20 races too... in the seniors we took silver behind Birchfield Harriers. Massive well done to our city...

    Running

4th race in 10 days this afternoon, at Warley Woods in Smethwick.... Warwickshire Cross Country Championships... interestingly, Warwickshire for athletics purposes is the “old” county of Warwickshire, including Coventry and much of Greater Birmingham, hence the venue ‘over the border’...

Doing the football league 92 with Cov

38 of the current league clubs.... if included teams which have dropped out of the league I think it would be low 40’s... although I’m far from a regular now, home or away.... been to more Italian matches in the past several years than English matches...

    Old sky blue army fanzine

I remember Sky Blue Army, Twist & Shout, In Dublin’s Fair City... in one fanzine was a cartoon.... titled something like “Mick Chant... everything he says is a football chant”.... which was pretty good. I remember coming home with one as a teenager, and my mum expressing borrow that “shit...

    Love 'em or hate 'em.....

That’s a fair enough point, but the only way football will ever change in this country is if the big 4/5/6/whatever it is now, are regularly shoved out of Champions League and European places, and start to struggle financially... and currently it’s our strange friends from Leicester and Wolves...

"IF" we managed to get promoted... How would we fund it

It probably depends who would come up... if Ipswich/Portsmouth/Sunderland went up, you may expect them to kick on and perhaps stay up more comfortably..... (as I think we would if our off-the-field shenanigans were ever resolved). if a Wycombe/Peterborough/Fleetwood came up, then they may...

    Gavin and Stacey

Everything gets drawn out too far.... Inbetweeners mentioned above... fantastic.... the first film was good, but I thought the 2nd film was dogshit. anyone watched People Just Do Nothing.... first three series were brilliant.... 4th and 5th absolute guff... Royle Family, Only Fools, even...

    Love 'em or hate 'em.....

Fair play to them.... similar city (and in some respects club history) to ours..... I’d sooner they succeed than any one of the “big 6”...... will probably get slated for the above, but when I was growing up the rivalry was Villa for me.... the likes of Leicester/Wolves/Blues were way below...
