    Burge being found out

Ha ha - you are wrong, very wrong. I actually preferred Charles-Cook when they were vying for the starting position. However, Burge has left now, yes he made mistakes, but it wasn't his fault managers kept picking him. He also played in our 2 victories at Wembley, playing a significant part in...

    Ifollow

Very interesting. I wonder if the away takings are tapered the higher your league, or if it is capped at 500 for the Championship too. I would love them to publish 'attendance/ audience figures' so we had some idea of the level of take up we have for ifollow.

    Burge being found out

Can't we just leave this now. I don't get the smug satisfaction some have in seeing him struggle.

    Shipley

To be honest I thought the 1st goal was more of a clusterfuck than the 2nd. Both our wing backs and all of the 3 centre backs were either badly positioned or made poor decisions in the lead up to it. Doesn't make any of them individually crap or a waste of space, and they are no more worth...

    Shipley

It wasn't in Shipley's zone, it was in Hyam's, but Hyam moved forwards leaving the gap between him and Shipley, which their man took advantage of to score.

Match Thread Bristol City V Coventry City

One thing that was apparent was our need to catch up on competitive match fitness. With the more recent games other Championship teams have played they are starting out with an edge on us. However, as the season progresses we will hopefully gain our own advantage as those teams start to tire...

    Shipley

Shipley is fine playing a defensive midfield role while we are on top, but when we are not we need someone with the defensive discipline which Kelly brings. In regard to their 2nd goal Shipley was caught out by Hyam being drawn into the ball and it going over his head, which made it look more...

    Player Ratings v Bristol

7's for Giles, Hamer, Walsh, Allen, O'Hare & Godden with 6 for the rest. Man of the match - O'Hare, although like the rest he visibly tired in that last 15 minutes. Giles and Hamer were also close to man of the match, but Giles was part of the dozy back line that conceded the sloppy 1st goal...

    Shipley

Although the 2nd goal was a bummer, the 1st goal was worse because every member of our defensive set up were in some way culpable. The ease with which they broke through us unopposed was ridiculous. If just one of them had been alert to the danger, we could have prevented the goal.

    Ex Player Watch

Just put my season football bets on and saw Jordan Ponticelli is 66-1 to be National League top scorer with Bet365. If this is his level that seems a really big price to me. Had £10 each way punt on it just in case.

    POLL. Your predictions

I've ambitiously gone for mid table. Even though there has been a big gap between seasons I hope we can still harness the winning habits from last season, and that our team ethos and good management will override the financial advantages a lot of our rivals will have over us. I like that we are...

Match Thread Bristol City V Coventry City

I think Bristol will be right up there come the end of the season, and that they are actually a good value bet given their long odds for promotion. Signing Mawson has made an already impressive back line even stronger. With Walsh introduced they will be even stronger in midfield too, while Wells...

    Anything in this?

His throws were fine with us, it was just we failed to make best use of them. The main problem was with Coleman, who didn't bother to see how other teams utilised such a weapon. When Stoke used it they put all their big men forward like at a corner, with everyone looking to win the 2nd ball. Our...

    Wilson on the move

..... but when the ethos of your club is to buy young players to develop and sell on at a profit in order to sustain itself, you have to give those players longer contracts to maximise their development and their value. If you trust your judgement in the market 3 years is the right way to go.

    Wilson on the move

Not sure whether Wilson grew up as a Cov fan or not. My nephew was in academy at same time so might ask him. However, having been at the academy for so long he will definitely have an attachment to the club. Nevertheless I don't see his decision to prefer Newcastle over Villa being anything but...

    Wilson on the move

I have a different recollection to you. I seem to remember we only got round to offering Westwood a new deal in the final January of his contract. Pretty sure the same happened with Gunnarsson too.

    Council meeting - 18/8

The same applies to any big events. When the Godiva Festival is held in Coventry we will be told it is worth an extortionate amount to the local economy, likewise the the same but at a much higher level when there's a royal wedding in London. The figures normally bandied about include every...

    Mark Robins

This is right. McFadzean particularly got caught out a few times early on last season before finding his feet. So much comes down to confidence. If we are winning, playing this way will come easily to the players following last season's confidence boosting form, but if we start on a losing run...

    MK Dons Player Ratings

How come his highest mark on this thread is a 5 then? He clearly didn't play well which appears to be recognised by nearly everyone, The difference is whether you accept the mitigating circumstances concerning the position he was playing and the extra tiredness brought on by covering for an...

Video Milton Keynes Dons v Coventry City highlights

The ball seemed to be running through to Marosi after his touch, so not sure he would have reached it either.
