    Any update on baker?

Robot or Slade? I’d have the robot every time!

    Any update on baker?

I’m sure you’re being ironic. I work in a school and where as we used to drown in paper, we now drown in computers and even more paper.

    Any update on baker?

I was listening on the radio the other day to an item about robots in the US being used to cook burgers in fast food restaurants. The reason for there introduction, as always, was the huge saving in costs on labour. There was someone on from a British bakery saying how they are increasing using...

    Any update on baker?

At the risk of sounding like the old git that I am, wasn’t the same thing being pushed about automation 20 odd years ago except with the pay off at that time being increased leisure time and shorter working weeks. The opposite seems to have happened.

    Regis Tribute on Sunday

I thought it was a good tribute to Cyrille. Greg Downs spoke really well. Amazing how well Cyrille’s family held up and were able to speak about him.

    Any update on baker?

Not disasterous, just not as good as when he left.

    Any update on baker?

Baker isn’t one of the best players we have had. He wouldn’t have got into the top flight teams and he wasn’t consistent enough in Division two. However, he was probably our best player for a couple of seasons in League One, both scoring and making lots of goals. He was player of the season at...

Yes, liked him too. Had a great partnership with Martin in the season we finished sixth and qualified for Europe. Part of arguably City’s best ever team although for me that is the Fergie and Wallace team of the late seventies. They were magic! Sadly I think O’Rourke died recently.

I think Setters got the second, it was either Bruck or Machin got the first. We beat them again the following season when I think Curtis did score. At the time of the first match he was still recovering from his broken leg.

Shows how sad I am but I can remember the Telegraph headline for the report on that match on the Monday following the game. This was Bobby’s first game back after being out injured for several weeks, it was also City’s first win for several weeks too. Hence the headline was “Dynamic Bobby back...

A message to all sky blues fans

That Utd game came only a few days after the main stand burnt down in a fire. The whole central part of the stand was gone, only the blocks at either end remained. They somehow fitted temporary seating into the central part that was burnt and the game went ahead with a crowd of 48k in...

Songs that bear no relationship to reality

Never really understood why Gary Breen. Not the best centre half we ever had. I suppose Breen rhymes with dream better than Hutch does.

    Match Thread Wycombe Match Thread

I was at the game last night. Haynes played well both in defence and attack. Played some nice balls forward to both the midfield and forward players.

In the home game they won lots of free kicks all over the pitch which were launched to the edge of our penalty area where they had 5 or 6 players challenging for it. A unique style! We need to try not to give needless freekicks away.

    Evans’s Behaviour

We were behind the goalposts, but a little to the right as you looked at the pitch, about 5 or 6 rows back.

    Tic, Toc, Tic, Toc

Some managers are a good fit at certain clubs but not at others. I think this is the case with Robins here. It is certainly the case with Coleman at Accrington. In his second spell there. When he left the first time to take over at Rochdale he was sacked after only a year. Now into his fourth...

Sounds like a description of some of our “fans”. Same day, same place different experience for you and for me.
