    Mad mackems deluded as ever

Had they won on saturday they'd have been top (albeit having played more games than teams around them)

Midlands Cross Country Champs at a very windy course in Mansfield. ENough to blow runners to almost standstill at times. I didn't feel that i ran well, but was pleased enough with 150th place. 1 Bristol & West 2 Notts AC 3 Tipton Harriers 4 City Of Stoke 5 Coventry Godiva Harriers 8 Kenilworth...

    Points for Play offs

As much as Stoke was a "must win" the other night, MIddlesbrough is a similarly important "must not lose" game...

    Points for Play offs

I think rather than the points total, it's the fact that really we are only in contention for the final playoff spot (possibly two spots as West Brom don't seem to be doing much). If all four spots were still within reach i'd say we are still well in there. But with limited places up for grabs...

    Running

Club night with Godiva... 5 x 1km. Rest period starting at 2mins, then dropping by 20secs each time. I was still fatigued after racing 16miles on the fells on sunday, so just took the first one steady and see how i go from there. 3:47 3:42 3:40 3:40 So a good 20secs/km down on previous km...

New Highway Code rules coming in

I can see that its well-meaning, but can't help think that it is somewhat misguided. Not sure exactly what was so bad about the previous rule of waiting until its clear before crossing the road. I certainly won't be risking stepping out into the road if there's a vehicle indicating a left-turn.

    Match Thread Stoke match thread

I hesitate to call anything "must win"... But i feel that if we are to maintain any slim hope of being in the playoff hunt then we really do need to beat Stoke tonight. I'll resign myself to admitting we are out of it if we don't win.

    The CBS

Well it's been a few years since i've been in Italy, due to obvious travel issues... although i'm back in September (won't get to Verona this time though)

    The CBS

Must admit i've never seen that (although have seen it in usual "large" size). Of the stronger ones i've seen over there, Elephant seems to be quite common (about 8% volume i think)

When you go to the offy in Italy and get 330ml "budweiser" bottles of SuperT :D

    It’s time to go.

I'd love to tell you what threads you should stick to, but you spread your absolute claptrap indiscriminantly all over the forum.

    It’s time to go.

This rant/thread has came off the back of a defeat, where it can easily be argued that we dominated and many people wouldn't have questioned if we had won by a couple of goals. Massive overreaction (colour me shocked) Thread would never have happened if we had won (or even drew) yesterday...

    Running

Did league cross country last week in Smethwick. Had my best run of the season but ended up 40 places further back in the field compared to the previous fixture... the race was being used by the Uni clubs (Loughborough, Birmingham and Warwick) as their trials for the University Champs, which...

    QPR Attendance

I don't think we can knock opposition fans for trotting out the "Ricoh/CBS is soulless...." cliche... in pretty much all of their previous visits that will have been exactly the case. Long may it continue to improve... but i saw someone on facebook claiming we are the "noisiest fans in...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I now work full-time from home (although admittedly i spent today in the office... first day in office since November) Has completely changed my lifestyle, and i would say my quality of life has increased significantly as well. I imagine it may be different for someone younger and less...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Whilst i'd love to see them go bust, i think there's a higher likelihood that they will eventually realise its been a complete failure, and they would attempt to pick up where they left off back in the London area.

    AFCON

Those are obviously issues. But there's enough shambolic goings on in "western" football, that makes it a bit hypocritical to write off a continental championship, just because it isn't so important to us.

    AFCON

It's pretty disrespectful to write it off as a meaningless tournament. It may be to us, but it's plenty important enough to the people of Africa. Teams complaining about losing players should take it into consideration when signing players... not sign them and try to guilt them into missing...
