Coventry City FC need 11,000 fans at every home game....

I genuinely don't think SISU have the money. Idiots though they are even they must realise that a modest cash injection would get us out of this league. I think they would probably have done it if they could, if only to make us slightly more salable.

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

McLeods proposed transfer to Notts County has fallen through so he is available again. Crawley seem to be sticking to their £250k asking price though which i think probably puts him beyond us.

Any new signings this week ?

I think we will get 1 in on loan before Wigan and perhaps a couple more at the end of the month/early September when prem teams settle their final squad lists

    Shola Ameobi

He will have loads of options, Australia, China, UAE, MLS etc etc.

    Omar Rowe

Saints released him back in May http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150526-released-list-2469966.aspx Looks decent enough on paper

    Double Signing Today?

Could have been. I was looking at the transfer league website and it suggested he was signed for a fee but his wiki page suggests it was a free transfer. :thinking about: Found his level now with Salford City.

    Double Signing Today?

Rather depressingly we also paid fees for Chris Dunn and Clive Platt - possibly O'Halloran as well? Though he might have been more than 7 years ago.

    Macfarlane Gone

When he is sitting on a 4 year contract why would he agree to go by mutual consent if he didn't have another job to go to? At 37 and on the kind of wages we could afford to pay he's not going to be rolling in dosh.

    Macfarlane Gone

Off the wage bill though, every little bit helps.

    Macfarlane Gone

Might be an assistant managers post somewhere. Maybe Macfarlane just got a better offer independent of Pressley

    Macfarlane Gone

Makes sense. Didn't they say at the time of Pressleys sacking that Macfarlane would only stay on as long as necessary? Wonder if Venus/Clapham will be given the title of assistant or if it will just be left vacant.

    Trialists

I can only think of Urquhart who wasn't signed for the first team, who else was there?

    Simeon Jackson

To me, that record says that in all of the teams where he has started regularly he has scored a decent haul of goals. The fact that he scored well in league 2, 1 and the champ shows that he can play at a higher level (or at least he could back then, I am prepared to accept that he may no longer...

It wasn't about Oggy specifically, it was a general point about something not being right behind the scenes at the club which inevitably leads to players not performing to their best.

    Worst run football clubs article

Pompey are another example. Ok they are recovering a bit now under fan ownership but it was disastrous management that led to their downfall. Leaving dodgy Harry to his own devices for one thing.

I think thats why TM insisted on bringing in Clapham and Venus. Our backroom staff hasn't been right for ages. I think Oggy is happy being a keeper coach though and doesn't get too involved in anything else. You'd think he would have had a spell as caretaker manager by now if he had any...

    Worst run football clubs article

Wasn't that long ago that Randy Lerner was being held up as the shining example of "the right way" for a foreign owner to run a club. They have underachieved lately but i certainly wouldn't lump them in the same boat as us or Blackpool. Newcastle are a funny one, they aren't badly run as such...

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

I'd rather have Henderson from Rochdale, but McLeod wouldn't be a bad signing. Can't see it happening though. Loan strikers from Everton and Spurs seem more likely.

First season in the prem with Norwich he only made 22 appearances, of which only 10 were starts. The next season he only made 13 appearances. Maybe he just wasn't good enough for the prem but where he has played regularly he has scored consistently.
