Match Thread Coventry City - Tottenham Hotspur [LC] Match Thread - Wednesday 18th Sep

Reminds me of how we used to play in the Hamer/Gyokeres days. Let them have all the possession but stop them from doing anything with it.

Match Thread Coventry City - Tottenham Hotspur [LC] Match Thread - Wednesday 18th Sep

Why all the negativity? It’s not a game we should win, so if we do, great. If we don’t then it doesn’t really matter anyway

Strange if it is because I remember someone on here a few month ago claiming that Leeds fans were the only away fans ever that we let into corporate

    Spion Kop

At a guess, would it have been after the Bradford fire that it was deemed unsafe? Wasn't that when wooden structures in grounds were clamped down on? Great view of the ground in the old picture. You can see the bomb damage to the Main Stand roof where its been patched up

    USSR invades Ukraine.

It is a tricky one. On one hand I don't see why Ukraine should negotiate anything other than the complete restoration of its pre-2014 borders. Bullies like Putin should always be stood up to. On the other hand I don't think Ukraine is worth having a Nuclear war over

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Playing out like the rumour suggested a couple of months ago. Sunak went for an early election because he didn't want to be seen as the man who took us into WW3

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Getting a bit scary. I suggest a big piss up tomorrow. If it does kick off, it might be your last chance

    England - Lee Carsley Era

Oh they have. You may have missed it, but I think it was during euro 2020 (2021) middle class Guardian readers branded England fans as vile, disrespectful thugs for booing other teams anthems. I don’t care either way. I just want the “rules” to be the same for all

    England - Lee Carsley Era

Agreed However it was also sporting rivalry when England fans booed other national anthems. Some of us just want consistency. If it’s fine for Ireland fans to boo an anthem, it’s fine for England fans to do the same

    Spion Kop

I’m not sure when that end of the ground was named Spion Kop, but as HR opened just a few months before the famous battle it was probably quite early on. The Kop that most people remember was built in the 1920s using leftover materials from the city tram system. Before that it was just an...

From what I’ve seen of grounds in those days the Somme would’ve been a more appropriate nickname for the pitch
