They are rich people; average school fees are about £18k per year. That's £1500 in cash a month Median household disposable income, money left after paying taxes but before rent, food, bills, travel etc is £34.5k or £2900 a month. Can't see there being many families even on an average wage able...

    Dean Austin position untenable

That's similar to my question earlier? The recruitment is being viewed in the context of signing those players, which was an exceptional event. Is it really that bad? Not like that poster to create an alternative reality.

    Dean Austin position untenable

Robins sets the criteria for choosing the players and had the final say over them signing. Robins never expressed any view at all that he didn't want any of the players signed, did he?

Who's jealous Nick? The point of VAT on school fees is to bring it into line with other discretionary services. Surely you agree that's fair, don't you?

    12th man

You are right, we just don't play with any real intensity. One of the only times I think we have this season was Oxford at home and the atmosphere was better.

MVE hasn't, gets unfairly singled out because he happens to be one of our main attacking outlets. Sheaf hasn't either really.

    Transfer Rumour January transfer window

Clubs are allowed to make losses, if your explanation of the rules was true the entire EFL would be under sanctions

    12th man

The atmosphere was borne of a strong connection between players and fans which has pretty much disappeared. It feels like we're just reverting to the norm in the Championship like the Stokes of this world. Look at the vitriol even our better players like MVE and Sheaf get on here.

    Just think

Stop talking shite, we have been consistently top 6 for xG which means we make chances which means we are not negative.

    Dean Austin position untenable

Couple of questions really: 1. Is Austin that bad or is it more that our expectations are unrealistic in believing every signing to hit the heights of Vik / Hamer? 2. Is the criteria he's given too data focussed and / or too potential future returns focussed? 3. Is the season's performance now...

    Dean Austin position untenable

He'd scored 16 (and got 13 assists somehow) for Ipswich the season before Lampard signed him, £5m is not far off the going rate for a striker getting those returns. His league goal return was better than Simms' is likely to have by the end of this season.

    Bobby Thomas

He's a young centre back playing in an unsettled team that hasn't met the expectations put on it, those expectations mostly set out by its clueless owner. He needs some experience next to him. The idea that he can be disposed of and another young player signed to magically make it all OK is...
