I think it’s a confidence thing. I thought he was decent yesterday but a couple of his passes, especially the one on the break, were woeful. I think I noticed an improvement in his ball retention. He took a pass, held it up, laid it off, better than I’ve seen him do before. Simple stuff but crucial.

Kitching especially. I thought he looked really assured. I think we’re going to be alright you know.

But isn’t part of the very real issue of racism/discrimination that people don’t reflect on their unconscious biases? Even if you don’t believe it, I think it can only be a good thing to think about it. No?

Alas I’m nowhere near, got about 20+ years before I can. I do though remember the words of an old lecturer I had, who’d come out of retirement to lecture. He said when he initially retired he lasted about a week before he knew it wasn’t for him. He said he realised he’s got to plan properly...
