Think it was made fairly clear that the contract offer was no longer on the table

Ideally yes, but things change rapidly in football. It appeared nailed on that he was going to Luton but for whatever reason that didn't happen. His agent will have been whispering in his ear too.

He might not have the choice? Clearly has had contact with championship teams but if a contract hasn't materialised he has to play somewhere.

Don't really care now that his contract with us has expired. He's a free agent, where ever he ends up now is his own business. Would be different if he was under contract but he isn't so time to move on.

    Glenn Middleton

Surely if that was the case we'd just change formation and play Shipley in a midfield 3? Given how skinny we are at right back and potentially needing reinforcements up top i just don't see another winger as a priority. That said, it doesn't look as though we will need lots of loans this season...

True, but we already have Jobello, Kastaneer and Wakefield as recognised wingers plus Jones to return at some point. Add in to that various players who can play on the wings if required and a number of promising looking wingers in the u23's..... do we really want to use a loan spot for another...

    He's another winger isn't he?

    Worst ever signing?

Leon McKenzie cost us a million quid and returned just 12 goals over 62 appearances. Not sure it makes him our worst ever signing but he wasn't good value whichever way you look at it.

    Released list

I think it's definitely the latter. If he was genuinely in the first team picture we would be offering him more than a 1 year deal wouldn't we? It's not as of he's an unknown quantity.

Match Thread Peterborough United vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 16th Mar

Why is he suddenly getting the nod ahead of Bremang when he has barely played for the u23s?

    Whiff of Desperation, something happening?

No guarantee we could join the National League, we'd have to apply

The answer is simple. Making it happen however...

Don't see why not, most have played some form of competitive football, even if it's been at a lower level and will have been with the club and around the first team for a good period of time. Obviously not all of them will make it but I would expect a good proportion of them to.

The answer is simple. Making it happen however...

I would hope that the likes of Morgan, Drysdale, Wakefield, Bremang, Walters, Allesani etc will be ready to step in to the first team next season, filling the gaps.

    How many teams

I would assume the league would give us the opportunity to put forward another proposal, likely playing in a stadium outside of Coventry and the other clubs would then vote on whether that was an acceptable solution or not.

Undoubtedly that was a motivation but it's not exactly a secret that they wanted sisu gone.

Entirely agree. I think they believed that SISU only wanted the Ricoh and would bail out when it was sold. Mis-take!

The answer is simple. Making it happen however...

If the Council/Wasps/whoever are trying to distress CCFC to force SISU to sell as it appears then it's pretty short sighted. Sisu will fight to protect their investment as they have proved time and time again. Our best hope of getting shot of them is via success on the pitch. We have few...

    If The Unthinkable Happens ?

I've no interest in a phoenix club but I'm not sure what would constitute the death of the CCFC and a rebirth as a new entity. If we go into administration but the rights and assets are bought out by someone else is that a new club? Would it only be a new club if our golden share is revoked and...

    New Keeper

He was wank when I saw him playing for Darlington numerous times against Dale back in the day. In fairness it looks like he's improved quite a lot since then :playful:
