    Match Thread Home game atmosphere

What did we learn today lads? Just my thoughts - Kitching and Thomas should always play together - as someone said above - warriors and have real heart. Grimes is the first name in midfield. Torp's second goal was picture perfect FL - coaching is paying off. And Eccles is showing similar...

agreed. I personally find 2-0 leads very nervy particularly in the situation of the ref missing the most blatant penalty and red card in the history of football which would have ended the game and made for an enjoyable second half.

    Emotion at full time

I have to confess I now get very emotional on watching the team celebrate at full time with our fans - with everything on the line and late winners. Why? I never thought I’d see these days as the game nearly died through hooliganism in the 80s with 7,000 odd at HR. In L2 and L1 without a...

Agreed Fatso - Thomas's header across goal at Wolves to set up Simms was a thing of beauty.

Match Thread Oxford United - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 1st Mar

It's starting to feel like the 2022-23 season. A late run for the play offs. Every game now matters and seems like a cup final. And I'm totally on edge - I can only really enjoy the win hours after the final whistle. I was convinced after half time we'd blown it today. This is everything I...

    Player ratings v Oxford

The Grimes technique to volley a tricky ball back into the penalty area - just out of the reach of Simms - shows he's a cut above. A brilliant signing and already one of the first names on the team sheet.

The Saka goal was not acknowledged enough on the coverage - brilliant touch and the technique to shoot and place so precisely with pace was simply top class.

Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild

Checkatrade. 2015-16 era. Crawley Town midweek. December. Ricoh. Spotting a fellow sufferer took some doing in that barren bitter wilderness.

Beginning to love Ellis - imagine how good he will be with Wright and EMC running onto passes from Sheaf and Grimes.

Last second winner against the odds. Away fans going mental. Team overjoyed and together. Manager loving every second. 6 wins out of 7. 1 point off play offs. Sheaf and Wright coming back. Fantastic additions in the window. These are great days…. SBT focused on negatives. 😀

the perfect pass from Grimes to EMC who was far too good for their right back and cross into Saka who very nearly scored - outstanding and points at things to come. 6 wins out of 7 - this is dreamland with Sheaf and Wright to come back in.

    QPR Player Ratings

Serious question - is it your intention to run vendettas on all of our players. Last week Dovin, this week Grimes. Don't entirely see what you are getting out of it.

Are you drunk or actually coming up with this nonsense sober? Even 10 pints down wouldn’t absolve you to be honest.

    Preferred Team and System

I’m more in the 4-2-3-1 camp Goblin. Sheaf-Grimes in the 2, Saka/Rudoni/EMC in the 3, Wright as the spearhead. Or alternate it, Wright for EMC, Simms for Wright. I really want Rudoni on the pitch in a 10 type role with Sheaf/Grimes controlling the midfield.

    Leeds player ratings

Agreed. If we think about Sheaf, Grimes, Saka, Wright and EMC all starting in our best team - we're going to be competitive in the run-in. 4-2-3-1 with Sheaf and Grimes as the defensive midfield 2 adding control that we didn't last night have as an underpowered midfield 3. We go again.

Match Thread Coventry City vs Leeds United - Match Thread - Weds 5th Feb 7.45pm KO

Just wanted to mention that the usual hystericals have gone strangely quiet. 4 weeks ago the dialogue was all about relegation and the club completely throwing away money on recruitment wasn’t it? They’ll be back after a couple of narrow defeats but it’s nice to escape their nonsense for a time.
