Wow! I don’t recall that incident but compare that to instances when almost an entire team surrounds the ref to contest a decision and no-one is booked. I guess it often depends on the nature of the ‘complaint’. Pointing out to the ref that a colleague is constantly being roughed up without...
It’s been mentioned several times before on this forum that we’re too complacent when it comes to defending teammates who are getting roughed up by the opposition. Should our management team be encouraging the players to be more proactive in complaining to the ref about this? Perhaps a Micky...
What about Wright’s chance which the defender slid across and blocked? Had he moved the ball to the right slightly, or done a di Stefano-type pull-back, the defender would have slid past, leaving Wright with a clear sight of goal.
The match reports often contain typos and grammatical errors. Haven’t read it in a while but the club’s history on the official site also contained lots of grammatical errors. I contacted the club to ask if they wanted me to proofread it, for free. No reply. 🙄

A client took me to watch Man City vs Chelsea and City won (l think, 6-0). A happy outcome until l found out that Everton had thrashed us by the same score. I remember the 7-1 loss at WBA too. Willie Johnston tearing Brian Roberts a new one. The stuff of nightmares.
Always had a lot of time for Gordon Milne. I wrote to him after we got a 3-3 draw at West Brom in Feb ‘78 asking why he hadn’t brought on our sub, John Beck, earlier in the game as l felt he could have got us a win. He didn’t reply (not surprising, really, as l hadn’t a clue). 🙄
