Unable to watch the match due to lack of coverage. Hope we are doing ok.

Robins & His Band Of Merry Men

Which is a good thing. We’ve spent a bunch of money, have an ambitious owner and manager. Naturally expectations will go up. Have to aim high now, but try to be grounded at the same time. Most of us are not pleased with the performance levels. I wonder if the players had very tough training...

    Summer transfer window 2024

Since many on here are panicking 😱 Is Yasin Ayari still available for a loan? He could possibly contribute another goal with his knob 🤣

    Ellis Simms

Corberan is a damn good manager at this level. Despite all the upheaval at WBA he still finds a way to keep the team challenging at the top end.

    The positives yesterday

Yes he kept us in the game and was prevented from challenging the shot for their goal by the player on the ground. Fadz had a goal versus Norwich chalked off as Walker was adjudged to be impeding their goalie which was total rubbish. This was far worse. Refs are utter shite so far.

    Attempted assaults on our players

Our players need to start falling like a deck of cards and flailing their arms. Basically make it so obvious to the ref that he’s got no choice but to send off the player. No use pleading with the ref after the incident. Same for yesterday’s goal where Dovin was clearly impeded and couldn’t...

Wilder was saying after yesterday’s match Sargent will be off for 20-25M. Really hope that comes true thought the Norwich fans think he was winding them up. Anyway, Norwich is and will always be a tough opponent in my view. Hope we can get something from the game instead of the customary defeat.

That’s why we should never compare preseason performances to the actual season. I was guilty of it too and bought into all the hype and got my hopes up. I agree the performances thus far (especially Stoke and Bristol) have been underwhelming. It can only improve from here I suppose. Thankfully...

Many interesting and valid points here. I think the 3-0 preseason win over Everton got us all giddy with excitement. But they’re struggling hopelessly in the Prem and are probably worse than several teams in this division where they will likely be next season. Our overdependence on Sheaf is...

    Midfield

Out of curiosity I researched our results over the first 3 matches since we came back to the Championship. Below is what I found 20-21 - 4 points 21-22 - 6 points 22-23 - 1 point (made the playoff final) 23-24 - 4 points Still not a fan of starting slow and having to make up lost ground...

7 points from 9? 4 games multipled by 3 points per game = 12. Norwich are our bogey team as well.

    Championship thread 24/25!

They will bounce back I’m sure. Lost to Preston who are now managed by Heckingbottom. First game in charge and he leads them to a win. Good manager for this level.

    Passive

Well said mate. I think we are all crying out for some passion and aggression to go for the ball, win 50/50 challenges and just basically work hard as a team. It requires everyone to do that, but some are too passive, lacking energy or motivation to do it. That leads to all the disjointed play...

    Victor Torp

I hope a new midfielder comes in. As for Torp fighting for the shirt, I don’t know if he will. Seems too lazy, is very slow, lacks aggression and awareness. Occasionally does a few good things when motivated, but largely anonymous. Palmer is the same although thankfully was motivated enough to...

Torp and Allen are not starters. Maybe impact subs. That’s about it. We need to find a midfield general who can attack, defend, spray passes about. Until we do, we have to somehow bridge the glaring midfield gap with the people we have. Obviously Sheaf’s absence exacerbates the problem and we...

I don’t recall, but we’ve historically been very slow starters for sure.

I hope you’re right. Performance over position at this stage is important although playing great and losing every week would also be bad for morale. Fine lines.

Match Thread Bristol City (A) 24th August 12:30 KO

We needed a stoppage time goal to beat Oxford after dominating the match. We theoretically could have only had 2 points by now and be in 18th place. We cannot afford another slow start and expect to make a late dash to the playoffs. Consistentcy is key and that can only be achieved through...
