    Chris Chilton

I was behind the goal at Chesterfield a few years ago when the players were warming up. On shot cleared the bar and headed towards me, just above head height. I put my hand up to stop it and the ball simply smashed my hand out of the way. Now being over 60 I am no doubt not as strong as I was...

    Homegrown Strikers

A player I liked and one who we wrongly let go of was John Tudor. He was vying for a starting spot with Bobby Gould in the promotion season and didn’t really get much of a chance to show what he could do in the top division. Maybe Noel Cantwell didn’t rate him? In any case he went on to have a...

    Chris Chilton

Chris Chilton was a centre forward bought by Noel Cantwell in the early 70s. He played most of his career for Hull and arrived at City and in the top flight quite late in his career. He didn't have the best of times with us and I think he was forced to retire through injury not to long after...

    Taxi for Biamou?

He hasn't been a regular starter since League Two. He missed the chance to do that when he damaged his cruciate ligaments in the third game of the first League One season. Interesting that he started in 2 of those 3 games and was in ahead of JCH. He had a whole year out which takes some coming...

    Taxi for Biamou?

You maybe right but I haven't seen the evidence for that. If you look at Biamou's goals against Peterborough, Swindon or Yeovil, I can't think of any goals that Godden or Bakayoko scored that compare. (Walker I don't know about). The nearest I can think of is Bakayoko's equaliser against...

    Taxi for Biamou?

The way that some posters write about him, I would genuinely wonder if they are actually pleased when Biamou scores for us. Do they cheer?

    Taxi for Biamou?

I may be moronic to think it, but I would have thought Max is one of the best strikers of the ball in the team. Who would you say is better?

    Taxi for Biamou?

So you think that a player getting on in the 80th minute of a game on a regular basis should have his goal stats analysed in the same way as a player who regularly starts? I don't think that that is fair. I do think that if Biamou had had more minutes on the pitch he would have scored more...

    Taxi for Biamou?

That really wasn't the point of the post you have replied too. However, there is a choice and you have just alluded to it. Robins could play Bakayoko. At the moment he seems to see Biamou as the better option. He could have played Walker. If Biamou is so dire, surely a player who is fit but...

    Taxi for Biamou?

Do you not see the irony in the way that you feel that JCH's goalscoring record should not be distorted by sub appearances (quite right too), but this is certainly not a luxury you would afford to Biamou. It's why goals per minute on the pitch is a much better indicator of performance.

    Taxi for Biamou?

So far on this thread we have had anyone who thinks that Biamou is any good being described as a moron. Biamou himself described as shit, League Two standard and a French C.( what has his nationality got to do with anything?) I wouldn’t really see any of these comments as being anything other...

    bakayoko

So Biamou was shite against Reading? (seems that Hamer, Vibash and Cook would disagree with this) Shame that you can't overcome some built in prejudice to acknowledge when one of our players has done well.

But you can still watch them as part of your ST deal?

Brum Game moved to Friday on Sky

The only game that the ST wasn't valid for was the first home game, QPR. All the other home games ST holders have had access too.

Mark Robins... One of coventrys greatest ever managers

I think they went from 4th to 1st then 1st to 4th in consecutive seasons. Some feat! We played them in the old Second Division as they were on the way down to the 3rd and we were gaining promotion to the first. We beat them 2-0 at Highfield Road, only the second game I had been to.

Biamou still has lots to offer

His career is unusual as he became a full time professional very late. I think that if you were being fair you would make allowances that it took him 1000 minutes to find the net. I remember seeing him play in what I think was his full debut against Blackburn in the League Cup when he was...

Biamou still has lots to offer

As soon as anyone comes out with the selfies and autographs comments you know they have lost the argument. I couldn’t care less about Twitter or selfies. I’m not involved in any of that stuff. I like Max because I think he has been an effective, sometimes exciting player at the three different...

Mark Robins... One of coventrys greatest ever managers

Also interesting to note that from Hill’s appointment in 1961 to Milne’s departure in 1981, we had only 3 managers. In the last 20 year period we have had 15 permanent managers (counting Robins twice). Different times I know but I think that there is a lot to be said for giving a manager time...

Mark Robins... One of coventrys greatest ever managers

To say that JH chickened out of the biggest challenge is unfair. He wanted a ten year contract, Derrick Robins would not agree to this. However, if you read Hill’s autobiography he says he was disappointed that the club never came back to him with a compromise offer, an offer he probably would...
