Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 1st Apr

Same team that started against Blackpool but Godden in for Walker, and hopefully Allen back on the bench. Feels like a massive match with the 6 pointers taking place elsewhere, a real opportunity to further close the gap on the top 6.

Ah ok, it's slightly different to what I saw on Twitter. So its saying of the country's population, 489k have Coventry as its closest league club?

    The Athletic Article

After reading that its difficult not to be excited about the last 8 games, isn't it?

It's pretty meaningless. All it shows is the population that is closest to which given club in our league. It would mean a bit more if they added in all club's from all leagues.

Have Wasps got a ground for next season?

Doesn't have to be a permanent scenario but for 1/2/3 fixtures a season to try and further increase the appeal of football to women and girls. Maybe a benefit could be an increase in the numbers of women and girls at City matches. My daughters' interest in football generally has peaked as a...

Have Wasps got a ground for next season?

It would be great to see them climb the pyramid a bit and then get them playing at the CBSA. Surely the investment needed would be relatively minimal to take them for where they are currently (tier 6) to something like the 4th tier as a starting point.

Please god let Sunderland finish in 7th in that scenario.

    False league position?

Evidenced here, mate, which I posted on the match thread. We’re 4th based on results since the rocky start.

It extends far beyond 8, 10 and 12 games. We’re 4th over the last 28. What they’ve achieved since the awful start is nothing short of incredible.

And Crewe are playing now too.

    Snow?

The Stoke game is on tonight and presumably they were hit as bad or worse than Cov.

Met office says minus 2 overnight and above freezing by 9am and 5 degrees by the afternoon. It’ll be fine surely. It better be as I have a 180 mile drive ahead of me.

    Hull crowd

If someone had said in 1993 when we sometimes played in front of 9k fans in the PL that we’d have 13.5k STHs in Div 2 in 2022 most would have scoffed. It’s a different world now.

I just think they've forgotten to update that from the Sunderland game. Sales so far point to there being more than 18k City fans come ko. I could be talking bollocks though.

    The Orange Ball

It was so cold at that Blackburn game. We'd had an appalling season up until that game as well. Is that the last time we've played with an orange ball?

It’s forecast to be 5 degrees at kick off and dry. No rain fcst from early Friday so plenty of time to put plans in place to deal with any ice issues around the stadium you’d have thought. I’ll be amazed if the game is in doubt. I remember driving up the M40 on the morning of the Norwich game...
