    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Add Yates to that list, another couple permanent CBs plus some decent loans and we’ll have a tasty XI next season.

Very doubtful. Agreed which is why the whole “3/5 seasons top 6 finish” is complete bollocks.

Extremely likely IMO. King already told us he’s essentially unwilling to put his own money in. I don’t think he bought the club for the reasons most fans think, definitely some ulterior motive.

    Transfer Rumour Žan Vipotnik

Yeah, very easily affordable. Can’t help but feel with some proactive investment we’d already have a few more players in.

    So then.

On one hand, by this time next month we could see Vik sold, Hamer's new contract signed, Yates, Simms, Van Ewijk, etc. all joining and we batter Leicester 5-0 then wonder what all the fuss was about, and on the other hand, we could see hardly anyone come in, all the Vik money gobbled up and...

    Is Ryton training ground done?

Looking through photos inside the place it looks like a secondary school sports facility. Definitely need to move out somewhere new and state of the art ASAP.

    Semantics.

Half of those 11 were loans. The rest were deadwood needing to be moved on anyway. If Vik broke his leg and didn't get sold said players would've been replaced with more deadwood Hilsner/Kastaneer types and loans, not the multi-million pound players we need to compete.

By no money I don't literally mean penniless. More he doesn't have anywhere near the funds to realise his ambitions. We'd have been fucked, yes.

Doug doesn't have any money. That's why he's waiting for Vik to be sold before giving Robins a budget.

A quarter of the Championship haven't signed anyone yet including Southampton and we've signed a player.

Fair point but that requires an excellent recruitment team getting things right every time and a bit of luck. Also both owners are significantly wealthier than King.

So buying players automatically loads the club with debt? What model other than spunking millions on players or relying on Robins conintuing to be a magic miracle worker again will actually help us get to the Premier League?

What's the point in buying an established Championship football club with hopes of getting to the Premier League within the next 5 seasons if you're not prepared to spunk millions on players?

Looks like it. Fair point about the turnover. I think with regards to the amount of players we need to bring in, the more days, weeks, etc. we go without news then the more tetchy people are going to get. Don't think there are any other teams in the Championship that need to bring in 10+ players.

Not that player in particular, I'm suspicious at the fact that Robins can't make signings until Vik is sold. You'd think he'd be given some cash beforehand to make up some numbers.

Less than 500k?? The fact that Doug is completely unwilling to give Robins that before the Vik sale is telling.
  19. San Francisco

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

The reality is CCFC will never spend £7+ million on anyone EVER. Doug isn't a billionaire and hasn't signaled any intent on investing in the squad outside of money received from outgoing transfers and ST sales. Plus that £18 million won't be fully reinvested in the playing squad.

    Is Ryton training ground done?

Pretty much. People who think Ryton can be revamped are delusional. It's tiny even compared to some League One training facilities. Ideally we should sell the land and move somewhere much much bigger and build a state of the art facility that can compete at an elite level.
