Good point. But I suppose even if it was our best 11, most teams have an off-day sometimes so it could just be that.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield United Match Thread - Tuesday 4th Nov

It feels so different going into a game after our first defeat. I was feeling nervous for each game because I wanted to preserve the unbeaten run and break more records. Now I'm feeling nervous about the whole thing falling down and the realisation that we were playing above ourselves. A win...

I never see him in any of the promotional vids or pics. It really is as if he’s just disappeared.

    Pompey Player Ratings

I love Sakamoto. He can have quiet games but when he's on it he does everything so well. He can beat a man and cross but he works so hard to win the ball. 9/10 last night

I think that's fair. I guess I quoted your comment but made a more general point about the fact that there are people on here who have an agenda against Dasilva. You must have seen that if you read these pages regularly.

Dasilva is having a good season. He is great with the ball at his feet (as good as anyone in the squad). He gets back well and has not been beaten too often (all full back get beaten sometimes). His attacking play has been decent and his interplay with the midfielders is consistently good. I...

    Victor Torp

I think if his goalscoring continues, he will be worth a lot for that alone. When midfielders score around 15 goals a season, they become sort-after. If he catches the eye with his scoring and scouts watch his all-round game I think he's easily worth £10m. He did a couple of very nice little...

Match Thread Portsmouth FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 21st Oct

I think al football fans, when they're doing well, have a sense that it's all about to crash down, especially when you're used to a team not having success. Every game I have been thinking that this will be the one that we lose and it keeps not happening. Obviously it will at some point, every...

Match Thread Coventry City - Blackburn Rovers Match Thread - Saturday 18th Oct

We should win this. It should be an easy one I hope. I can’t help having that feeling that at some point the bubble will burst but I don’t think it’ll be this weekend. We always seem to do ok against Blackburn and I think we are genuinely better than them. I won’t be able to watch as have a...

    Millwall fans

It’s funny how we watch games though. I can understand that fans see if differently from different sides. I take almost no notice of the opposition and rarely notice any single player. For me it’s more about the feeling I have, whether I feel nervous or confident etc. Last night I never really...

Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 1st Oct

We were very good last night. Millwall were in the game first half and came out battling after the break. They didn't ever really worry me though, it just felt like they wouldn't score. When we broke, especially second half, they looked terrified. With BTA on this kind of form I think he keeps...

I know they lost a man but I was surprised by how bad Brum were, especially compared to Leicester.

We could have really punished them at the end, we just saw it out. So easy. Great stuff to extend the unbeaten run. Well done everyone. Dasilva, Grimes, Eccles, Torp, Saka all good today

A win would be really good this weekend. We've played well recently and not put teams away. We did well to hold on against Leicester and I am assuming Brum won't be anywhere near as strong. We should be able to beat them, hope these injuries aren't serious.

    A quick summary

This phrase ‘stealing a living’ is a weird one to me. If a player is training well and doing everything he can to get into the side and then comes on and doesn’t have the best game, he is hardly stealing a living. He’s just not playing that well but with a few minutes here and there how is he...

I remember Gallacher got injured for a few weeks and MacDonald came into the side, he was poor. Gallacher returned and scored on his first game back, everyone chanted 'we want Macca'. I don't think he was a success for us if memory serves.
