Match Thread Ipswich Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Dec

Extra day's rest might should work in our favour. Some players looked knackered last night by the 70 minute mark (Allen and Eccles in particular). Simms for Godden, but otherwise unchanged for me. Hopefully Kasey Palmer on the bench

    Transfer targets

I know he's not anywhere near fit yet, but in his brief cameos he seems to lost a yard of pace to me. Not all players return from ACLs as they were before. I don't think O'Hare has made any kind of decision yet (despite most saying he's off). Surely the club's offer to him will be improved...

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Tuesday 28th Nov

The 4-3-3 system has worked at turning around our form, but we gave up a fair few chances last night, and against Millwall on Sat. Going to a bang in form Ipswich on Sat, on a ground we've never done well at, I would consider moving back to a wing back system, and a box midfield. Collins...

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Tuesday 28th Nov

Few points... 1) Ball was out. However West Brom and Preston's goals against us recently shouldn't of been allowed, so we were due one. 2) Reminded me a lot of many games last season, where we were not great, but solid, and I always had a feeling we would win it, despite the first 15-20 mins of...

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Tuesday 28th Nov

It’s about winning, and I’d rather he play the right players instead of sticking with an unchanged team out of loyalty. If Alllen or Eccles need a rest, then bring in Kelly and O’Hare. No point having a decent squad but not using it. We were good against Millwall but they had 3 or 4 great...

    Wilson or Collins?

It was plain to see that Collins has a calmer head than Wilson, certainly with his kicking, and playing it out from the back. Yet to be seen if he could make that save Wilson made at QPR though

    Milan van Ewijk Appreciation Thread

Watching city Unseen for the Stoke game I am not seeing that. Laughing and joking with the players in training, and geeing them on before the 2nd half. He’s out of the team because he’s not been at the level since his injury.

What needs to happen in Jan window

He's not that kind of player. Lots of great strikers are not aggressive. He's low on confidence and adapting to a new club / country. He has been a disappointment, but i've seen enough to think he will come good. Same with Simms. Never got that feeling from Waghorn or Walker. They didn't suit...

    Bobby thomas and liam Kitching

I wouldn't. Rose was soft. He had pace and could pick a pass, but got bullied too often. Always thought he probably was a full back or midfielder converted to a CB. Kitching is a proper Centre half from what I've seen.

Positives Collins - His kicking is way better than Wilson's and seems calm with the ball at his feet. His punch from the corner was excellent, but didn't really have serious shots to save. Eccles - Everywhere. Great battling performance Bidwell - We always knew he was a LB, and he showed it...

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Nov

Thought we were going to regret the switch to 4-3-3 after 15 mins. Stoke seemed to cut through us every time they ventured forward. Then we took control until the last 10. Missed chances again. After the shaky first 15 mins we played some great stuff. Still think the box formation is the way...

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Nov

I think everyone can see we have good players, who are either off-form or lacking in confidence with the start we have made. Robins & Viveash will hit upon the right system / formation soon (hopefully Saturday), and then I expect things to take off. Kelly, Palmer & Tavares should all be...

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Nov

A little perspective here is needed....That L1 team was absolutely shocking, Mowbray had no money that summer (even for half decent loan signings) SISU were at their most disinterested, and it probably remains the darkest period in our history. Andre Wright, Stuart Beavon, Kwane Thomas, Kyle...

Rubbish. He carries the ball better than Ayari does. Made the goal (Swansea (a). And for his size, gets pushed off the ball less than the lightweight loan player. Defensively maybe not so great, but he plays as an AM for me.

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Nov

Not sure about the move to a back 4. We were chasing the game 2nd half against a bang average Preston team who probably came out to shut up shop. We drew the half 1-1. Yes we looked better, but it wasn't hard after the worst 45 mins of the season in the 1st half. I was quite encouraged...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

He'll be a top player, has skill and tricks and pace. That header against Blackburn and the goal against Boro shows he can finish too. Be interesting to see the comments later in the season, once he settles in and is more confident.

    Kasey Palmer

Have you seen Palmer play? I was expecting what you describe, but he does a lot of closing down. If Palmer is lazy, what is Ayari? Palmer was excellent up until the 1st International break. He then had a couple of wayward games then got injured. I think we’ve missed him badly over the last few...

Get that clown out of goal

He was poor for Luton's first at Wembley last May, beaten at the near post. He's a Good shot stopper (aren't all Goalkeepers?). His distribution is poor, and takes too long to start counter attacks. He doesn't comes for crosses either. I like Wilson, and he deserved his place last season...
