Loved Keogh. Full blood & thunder CB. He left in 2012 which was the start of the worst 5 years in the club's history. The rot had set in many years before though.

No to McNally. That's 5 CBs, all close to each other in terms of ability, age etc. I know it's a squad game, but most likely 3 of them miss out every match. A DM (with experience, and a bit of nastiness) and I'm happy.

Robins will keep the same team I would think. I would probably prefer Kitching over Binks (for this game anyway), but Robins rarely drops players for tactical reasons. I'd like to see Dasiva get the LB role for home games when we're on the front foot, but away from home in a flat back 4 would...

    Summer transfer window 2024

Remember his debut v Watford at LWB 2 years back. He looked great. He then played RWB in a handful of games, including the Wrexham disaster . Didn’t really impress. In any of those. Robins didn’t play him again.

Match Thread Were the Oxford goals Lucky or calamitous Defending ?

First one was just freakish. Firstly the free kick should never of been given, the bounce off Simms and a great strike from the Oxford CB who would probably miss that 9/10. 2nd was poor. I acutally don't think the defending has been that bad this season. We kept Stoke out for long periods, and...

Doubt he'll change a winning side, but Kitching for Binks would be my change. If Sheaf is available, doubt he will be started. Rodrigues close to a return?

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford Utd - Match Thread - Friday 16th Aug 8pm KO

Think Kitching should start next game. He was excellent in the Cup Game last week. I like Binks but Kitching is stronger , nastier, and probably more streetwise. Would assume Lati has won back the shirt from Thomas, and in fairness did well against Oxford, but Kitching & Thomas are the first...

Saka at about 70%. By Sept he will up to sspeed. Palmer’s pass into Haji 2nd half was sublime. Should of scored from that. . Oxford got very lucky with ricochets and bizarre referee decisions., but refreshing to see a side go for it. we’re going to be some team this season. Captain Sheaf...

Still think Thomas & Kitching are our first choice centre backs. Don’t think the defence played poorly tonight, but we really need a DM to protect them..

    Leadership

Aren't we always saying we haven't got anyone that talks to the ref? Eccles to me always seems in control, asking the question in a cool manner.

    Away kit

A white shirt still smacks of a lack of creativity, and plumping for a safe option.

    Away kit

Total cop out for me. We've not had a tradition of white shirts. Why can't they resurrectate that stunning 2-Tone Kit, with a slight update, if White was the theme this season. I want to see the Brown kit come back as well (with a modern twist ofcourse) We also had some nice Yellow kits in...

    Summer transfer window 2024

Spot on! We were splashing cash on great attacking players like Keane, McCallister, Hadji, Chippo, and Hartson. Our defence would normally include Marcus Hall, Richard Shaw and Paul Williams, and this was over 3-4 years. Our luck ran out eventually .

    Transfer Rumour Oliver Dovin

Yep Wilson was solid, but nothing more. The shot he spilled out into the six yard box in the 2nd half wasn't great. Dovin is our No1.

Palmer's first thought is to turn and run at defenders. Obviously, it doesn't always work, but he'll always create at least 2 or 3 openings in a game. Our midfield against Stoke created 1 between them all game (Rudoni's run and pass into Simms after 60 seconds)

Kitching was really good against Bristol. I'd be tempted to try him & Binks together. I think it will be Allen, Eccles & Rudoni in the middle.

I see the Palmer bashing has begun. Seeing as he actually played last night, instead of the 5 minute cameo on Sat. He played a fine pass into Simms, who scored. 1 assist, 1 game. Kasey is a great option for us this season. As for Tavares. Despite giving it a good go last season, it was...

Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City [LC] Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

I think Dasilva should be considered for Friday. He was excellent tonight, as was Kitching. Wilson solid. Midfield still an issue. Allen, Rudoni, Palmer and Torp are AMs for me. That leaves us only Eccles and Sheaf as DM/CMs. We really need a CM through the door by the end of the window.
