Favourite XI since relegation from PL

Stern John was a great finisher. When we played him with a partner (Adebola) with McSheffrey wide left, that was probably the best forward line we had in that first 13 years in the Championship before going down to League 1

think that was put to bed when they saw him at CB. JWE definitely, which was one of MR's more bizarre decisions

    Lampard - Next England Manager

All our success came that way.. Sir Alf, Robson and Venables. Struggle to put Southgate there to be honest

Just hold on brother. I've got another about Luis Binks coming up next!

Ok maybe LCM.. I mean this in emergency situations. He'd do a better job than Bidwell there!

Favourite XI since relegation from PL

I just hope no-one lists Stephen Hughes, even on the bench.

Favourite XI since relegation from PL

Ah David Thomposon! Had Strachan got a tune out of him the season before, we would of comfortably stayed up. You can imagine we would of had quite a front line for the next season, with Bellamy (reborn at Cov) & John Hartson.

Seems to be the unsung hero of Lampard’s push to the play offs. Always liked him as a player. Best first touch of any Cov player I remember watching, and I like the way he battled to get his shirt back last season, and some of his performances in that run-in were outstanding. The link up play...

Blog The One Goal Club: Conor Thomas

Didn't he only play 3 games or something? Looked really good as well, huge centre forward which we'd been crying out for since John Hartson. Then he got caught with kilo of coke in his boot didn't he?

    Lampard - Next England Manager

Frank is a bright man. If he did take us up and jumped ship to England, and like many others failed there, he would be back in The Championship again. Eventually maybe he'd want to manage his country, but he'll want to some real success at club level first. Building CCFC into a stable premier...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I too believe there's a player in Ellis Simms. Games that come to mind, Leeds away (23/24) and Luton at home last season. Unplayable. I still say to this day that when he turns and drives at players (which he doesn't do enough) it's like big Cyrille Regis in his prime. Frank needs to get into...

    Allen New Contract

Got a feeling Obikwu could be given a shot (certainly in pre-season). Saw him in pre-season last year at Stevenage and thought he looked good, and despite injury issues did the business for Grimsby.

    Allen New Contract

Well deserved too. Excellent squad player, who it seems is happy being that, and won't throw his toys out the pram when being left out. Copes well with being thrown into the team, doesn't need a run of games to get up to speed

    Transfer Rumour Jonathan Panzo

I thought Panto was alright to be honest. Doyle kept him out of the team, and was clearly short of match practice by Wembley that season.

    Lampard Axed! (Christine)

I remember some bloke saying to me (he worked behind the scenes at the BBC) The nicer they appear on television, the worse they are in person.

    Wright

Josh Sargent. That's who we should be going for. Would need to sell Wright & one of BTA & Simms I would think to even be in with a chance. Sargent, BTA, Obikwu & Bassette as the main strikers next season.

    Callum Doyle

Doyle in a back 4? Wouldn’t be spending 8m on him. Kitching is perfectly capable.

    Lampard to Southampton?

If he jumps mid-season (whilst we're in the Top 2-3) then bring back Robins & Viveash to complete the job

    Lampard to Southampton?

If we don't start well next season nobody will come in for him. If we do, then those struggling Premier League clubs may have a look at him. What if we are 2nd at the end of November, and a faltering Crystal Palace or Fulham make a move for him?
  20. Offhegoes

    Lampard to Southampton?

Won't happen. Jumping ship to a team in the same division who are coming off a disastrous Premier League campaign. Yes, he'll have more money, and a better squad (on paper), but there will be disharmony, players wanting out etc. + It won't do his reputation much good. You can understand the...
