Match Thread Derby County - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 11th Mar

I think it will be 1-1, for no better reason than the fact it would be insane for us to win 11 out of 12. I really want us to win this though, with a run of three really tough games coming up although I fancy us to get four points from those.

    Ellis simms

After the Stoke game I’m convinced it has to be Sakamoto-Thomas-Wright with Torp as a false 9. 😊

I agree. I don’t ever recall Eccles letting us down when he has played RB or RWB. IMHO he is a much better option in those positions than Lati. Unlike some I don’t dislike Lati but he is better at CB and his versatility is a bonus, although probably less needed now we have more strength in depth.

Had the penalty been given I would have wanted Torp to take it and he might have had a first half penalty.

Torp on fire and it’s great to see Saka back to his best. 😊

Unless he is injured - and I haven’t heard that he is - wouldn’t you have Grimes in ahead of Eccles?

Nor do I. As long as he doesn’t shoot. 😆

    Rudoni injury

I agree with most of what you say but, although it is indeed very bad news, it’s not disastrous. Torp is a good player - as is Allen come to that - and they will be decent replacements. Fortunately Rudoni’s injury has come just as Haji and EM-C are fit again and Sake is getting back to form...

    Rudoni injury

There’s no denying that it is a big blow but I back Torp to come in and do a good job for us. We have coped remarkably well with the injuries to EMC, Haji and Sheaf who along with Rudoni are arguably our four best players.

    Im at the point now

I think we would catch a few teams out with that unusual formation but personally I think our chances would be improved with 10 outfield players. 👍

    Player ratings v Oxford

You make a fair point but - to use the old cliche - you can only play what’s in front of you and he played very well. He also got in an excellent strike for his goal. I have sensed in recent games that he was getting his confidence back and the fear of getting another horrible injury was...

    Player ratings v Oxford

Absolutely and it was lovely to see. I have felt that he was improving bit by bit lately but I reckon this was the first time that he has been at his absolute best since his shocking injury. With Saka back on song and our injured players returning we really have to believe that we can make the...

Saka. Only 4’3” when standing but 7’9” when jumping. 👍
