Good question and not sure on that answer but I guess I'd rather us put £2m into a new CB, LB or ST when we've got relatively decent coverage in midfield.

I still think it would be a waste of £2m for a player to sit on the bench when said player would want to be starting. Not too dissimilar to KKH/MVE situation. Plenty have questioned paying £4m (or whatever it was) for someone to sit on the bench of MVE stays. - There's absolutely no way he gets...

So you're ok with this bit: We might have well said, 'Here, SUFC, you have O'Hare for 12 months and we'll give you £2m for the pleasure'. It would be a nonsense move to bring him back. Mental. Hamer, I would take back mind (although unrealistic).

Totally disagree my friend but that's ok ✌🏻

    Championship thread 25/26!

And my main point is that paying £2m for someone we had to let go on a free 12 months ago, isn't good business. I'm pretty sure DK would see it that way. We might have well said, 'Here, SUFC, you have O'Hare for 12 months and we'll give you £2m for the pleasure'. It would be a nonsense move...

Comparing him with Binks is irrelevant. I'd rather us spend £2m elsewhere or put it towards someone else. Midfield is an area where we have most depth...£2m on O'Hare would be a waste. He wouldn't get into our starting line up.

I hope this is a joke?! Pay £2m for someone who left us on a free and wouldn't get into our side now? No thanks. Loved him when he was here but that ship has sailed.

Ah fuck...so sad. Another member of the SBT gone. RIP Malc and hope you enjoy a drink up there with OSB. Condolences to his family.

Did you know Coventry are embracing a Red Bull-style vertical intent?

Who's to say we'd be less direct against better teams?

Match Thread Oxford Utd vs Coventry City Saturday 30th August 3pm KO

Agreed. Stoke and Boro both at home to Sheff Utd and WBA respectively in early, lunchtime KOs so a couple of draws there and we could go into the game knowing 3 points would put us top going into the international break (albeit on GD).

Did you know Coventry are embracing a Red Bull-style vertical intent?

As interesting as it is, we're still only three games in and quality of opposition will have an effect. Had we played say, Stoke, Boro and WBA, we could conceivably be in the opposite quadrant. It would be interesting to see after 10 games when everyone will likely have played a cross section...

    Championship thread 25/26!

Tough one, isn't it. We're all (generally) critical of the Yo Yo clubs or those on Parachute payments yet I'm sore the majority would take a year in the EPL and potential relegation to have the bigger transfers etc. Something quite romantic about being a non-parachute payment club and doing...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

OMG....I bought TWO Danish pastries this morning. I was only going to get one but felt the urge to get the 2nd. That's a sign. IT'S HAPPENING.

I saw yesterday some Chelsea youngster has gone to a German club (Dortmund maybe) for something like £25m. I did the googles on the kid and I think only played something like 8 EPL games. I hate the saying 'the games gone' but it's truly bonkers the amount clubs are paying for 'average' players.

    Stadium update

I love our little family on here but we're often wrong on a lot of things. Look, I don't really care on him per se, but to say he's hardly knowledgeable is tosh. Various media outlets (not just TalkSport...) wouldn't ask someone who's hardly knowledgeable to keep coming on.

Media outlets wouldn't keep choosing him if he was wrong all the time.

I mean, he is. Does he get everything right? No. But he's obviously knowledgeable as he's often sought out by respectable media outlets for anything football finance related.

    Transfer Rumour Jamie Vardy

Apparently Serie A side Cremonese have made contact with him. Saw somewhere his wage demands would likely be around £40k per week.
