@Rich nice one, well done. Yes that little climb is tough... if you can become stronger on the hills it really makes a difference on XC as you can gain an advantage onpeople through strength and determination, rather than having to rely on speed (which i'm far from blessed with!) Is Bedworth...

XC = cross country So it's off road.... i don't know in what condition the course was, but i train on it regularly and it varies from bone dry, rock hard and rutted, to muddy and waterlogged. A couple of little hills on there. It's fairly kind as XC courses go, but even then it's still...

How did you find it...? It's a great informal event for having a look at XC running. I was supposed to be there.... however i got a last-minute callup to our first team to run in the National XC Relays at Mansfield. I was well out of my depth, losing about 11 places on the anchor leg. Ran...

    Championship 21/22

100% I'm not really interested in getting into a protracted argument about it.... i have no doubt that i'm in the minority... it's just my feelings on the subject. I feel (perhaps wrongly) that late or high tackles are overly punished, whereas people deliberately fouling are relatively...

    Championship 21/22

I don't think that's a red card, in "today's game" or otherwise. Yellow at worst. They don't have the benefit of VAR (for whatever that might be worth), but a yellow would be correct imo. What pisses me off is when people commit deliberate fouls just to break up play.... blatantly tripping...

    Swansea and Bristol City Crowds

Exactly. It's a three hour car journey (with basically no alternative travel option). And despite the new-found love city fans have for our stadium, i'd imagine it still ranks fairly low on the list of must-do away days for champs teams. That said, i'd imagine they'll get up to 500+

Hope she did ok Daz....? I was out and about on Tamworth Rd between the 8 and 9 mile markers. Poor weather for road runners. I'd imagine the front-runners wouldn't have batted an eyelid, but for those who may only race a couple of times a year i can imagine it was a miserable couple of hours...

Farke out………Robins in, What are the chances.

That is a very fair point... but if we fall away this year, or start badly next year, knives will be out in a shot. Look at last year... People suggesting he'd "hit his ceiling" with promotion from league 1 and we should replace with someone more experienced.

Is anyone doing the Coventry Half Marathon this weekend? I've been laid low with a cold and not ran since wednesday morning, but i might be out along the route somewhere on sunday if i can shift it....

    Hull away

Last time i went (2-1 win, perhaps mid 2010's?), there is a pub up a side road, just across the park from the stadium... The Brickmakers.... that seemed to have the main contingent of City fans near the ground (i didn't venture into the city centre though)

    Hull away

I've always gone M1 to Hull. Not too bad a journey if the road is clear.

Club night with Godiva last night. 5 x 1km with 90secs rest, round a road loop in the Warwick Uni campus. 3:34 3:30 3:23 3:21 3:24 Wasn't looking forward to it as not done any reps shorter than a mile for a good few weeks, as been trying to build strength for the upcoming cross-country season...

Did 9 miles (almost but not quite two laps) round Draycote Water this morning at 6:40/mile pace (20:50/5km pace) Windy across the dams, and the uphill undulations really make it tough to maintain good pace and rhythm. Currently on 76.5 miles for the week, but might finish the week off with a...

    Two Tone 3rd Kit? (Again)

I'm not a big wearer of kits, but i think that is nice and preferable to the previous two-tone kit. Without the sponsor it would be lovely.

Whats the answer to the away form?

Both goals were unnecessary. Needless corner given away for tte first, and a rash free-kick, and then completely falling asleep for the 2nd. Problem was you could see it coming the way we sat back, but even then Preston didn't look capable of breaking through without our errors.

    Totally unacceptable

There's people on here happy to slate referees in the match thread... yet equally happy to condone Godden conning his way to a penalty, decieving the referee against Fulham...

Went out this morning wanting a fairly hard run. Ended up doing 6km at 19:50/5km pace. Not quite the distance (nor pace) that i was looking for. However i ran 13 miles yesterday, have trained twice a day all week except for friday, with a number of strength sessions in there too... so couldn't...

    David Speedie comments CWR

Whatever he meant by it... i agree that there's too much politics in football, and think that the ban on "political statements" by FIFA/UEFA was one of the few things they actually got right. If players etc want to take the knee... fine. But then those same players are going to be off to the...
