I was clearly being pedantic but just look at how wrong you were. You have literally no idea what immigration currently is or what it was before Brexit. You’ve allowed yourself to shape an opinion based on nothing. Now that’s is sad and pathetic. They blew smoke up everyone’s arse over...

I was in the UK. Which begs the question where were you? In that period highest UK net migration in a single year was 329K, the lowest was 140K, the average was 206K. The last 3 years average 612K a year . Another way to look at it is the entire net migration total from 2008 to 2015 was the...

    General election poll

Clint, you’ve got it all wrong mate. This is the most left wing Labour Party we’ve seen in a long time. Put your X in the box 😂

Pretty sure that 764K net migration recorded in 2022 is the current record since 1945. If you know better I’m all ears. What’s most interesting is 2023 figures. They dropped overall but that was largely due to a large drop in numbers from Hong Kong (presume the HK settlement scheme has ended)...

We’ve not long recorded our largest immigration numbers since 1945 having “taken back control” of our borders. We were far better off with FOM in the EU and far tighter restrictions on non EU migration if the numbers bother you.

If you read the small print they’re not even really offerings net zero immigration. There’s a load of caveats. Such as net zero except for this sector, that sector or another sector. They’re not really offering anything different to what’s already in place, they’ve just rebranded it. Bit like...

Yeah. They didn’t actually promise you anything. They campaigned a meaningless and ambiguous 3 word slogan, let you fill in the gaps based on your own own thoughts of what that meant and then did what they always planned to do without actually telling you what that was.

Nursing and Doctors is a good example. How many doctors and nurses are we importing every year instead of training them at home?

Did Brussels ever tell us that? On the boat crossings specifically it’s not a coincidence that the numbers have gone up exponentially since we left, it literally started on day one. When we were EU members we were also part of the Dublin agreement which meant we had the right to automatically...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We did take back control. We, I say we, I think it was actually the policy of chief snake oil salesman Boris Johnson and his Home Secretary who was Pritti Patel at the time, to make the UK more attractive to Non EU migration by lowering the wage threshold. That is the level of control they chose...

Dare I say but you can thank Brexit. I heard an explanation for it the other day that made perfect sense. When we had freedom of movement with the EU we had very fluid immigration with the natural control being the availability of jobs. The majority of people weren’t permanent immigration...

So the current status quo then. How’s that going?

So do we need an agreement with the EU then?

Didn’t an “illegal” immigrant from Afghanistan win the award of NHS Doctor of the year a couple years back? Was smuggled into the UK as a teenager before being granted asylum I seem to remember. In the big scheme of things “illegal” immigration isn’t the issue. Legal immigration far outnumbers it.

Are you suggesting that he’s using immigration to expose who’s going downstairs? :)

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I wonder how a lot of politicians who claim to be Christians level their views on immigration, especially those seeking asylum with being a Christian.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

TBF it doesn’t seem to be. You have 3 major religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam all believing in the same God each with multiple sects in them. All three religions are largely in disagreement with each other on how good should be worshipped and understood. Then within each of those there’s...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We’ve spent the last 14 years lurching further and further to the right and with each lurch things got worse. I’m 51 and I think I have to go back to the my childhood and the 70’s to remember the country being such a mess. The polls have shown that most people in the UK have grown tired of right...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I wouldn’t worry about it Pete. The brand of right wing populism sweeping many countries are just a bunch of talentless charlatans who when faced with real responsibility will crumble. Look at Argentina, they wanted him out with in a couple of months, mass protests most weeks. They’re stuck with...
