    Embarrassing

So you’re basically saying that Germany would have had 6K more asylum seekers if it were not for the DR. You are also ignoring that Germany still prioritises DR as a route to returning asylum seekers because it’s success rate is high compared to other routes. 6K also won’t be the final figure...

    Embarrassing

It isn’t for one simple fact. The reason we were a net taker was a political decision made by the then government. Them choosing to not use the Dublin regulation is not a failure of the Dublin regulation. You can argue it’s a failure of government if you like because the simple fact is the...

    Embarrassing

If you think swapping less than 10k a year for more than 30k a year was the right thing to do then I admire your charitable nature. Then there’s the problem of the loss of ability to return them via the Dublin regulation. But then again with your charitable nature you probably don’t want them...

    Embarrassing

May I politely suggest that you read up on the Dublin Regulation and why we had to leave it. Leaving the the Dublin Regulation makes it more difficult to send boat arrivals back to France. It also means it doesn’t matter if they have already been granted asylum in an EU country they can still...

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

They’re using violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims. It’s the dictionary definition of terrorism.

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

The governments definition of anything doesn’t mean it is what it is. They can pass legislation in parliament so long as they can whip the numbers. Exhibit A, Rwanda is a safe country. The Oxford English Dictionary on the other hand is literal and the literal meaning of terrorism is the use of...

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

There’s been mass protests all over Israel this weekend. Israeli Jews protesting about the invasion and the plans to permanently occupy Gaza. Demanding an end to the invasion and a negotiated return of hostages. Clearly all “anti semite Jew haters”...

Match Thread Derby County - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 16th Aug

A question for anyone who attended. Watching the highlights were the Derby fans as quite in reality as they seemed on TV? Even when they went ahead their celebration seemed muted at best. Our away fans on form as usual. Well done anyone attending. A credit to the club as always.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I doubt anyone will be as happy with that outcome than you. You wouldn’t know what to do with yourself if you didn’t have a reason to be triggered. It’s clearly your soul purpose in life.

12 year old raped in nuneaton

I haven’t forgotten anything. The fact is that since records began the longest period of sustained growth in UK history happened under Blair and I’m specifically talking about growth as a counter to your concerns about growth. I actually didn’t talk about anything else simply to stop it being...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It was in their manifesto. As rail franchises end they’re returning back to public ownership. The first 2 (I think it’s 2) happened earlier this year. Great British Railways is already happening.

12 year old raped in nuneaton

Your stance on immigration says you’re anti. Growth doesn’t mean automatic increase in costs, at least not when measured against other metrics. For instance the last time we had a sustainable period of economic growth was under Blair. Important metrics such as living standards, average income...

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

I see Netanyahu has confirmed that they intend to permanently occupy Gaza. If it isn’t obvious to you why his government ignored intelligence from their allies and foes ahead of the 7th October attacks now it never will be.

Can I ask you one question. Are you pro or anti economic growth?

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s just a shame we left the Dublin arrangement in December 2020. It’s no coincidence that that numbers trebled the following year and have continued to climb ever since. If you’re looking for someone to blame blame the politicians who insisted we left that arrangement. Bloody Starmer… no wait...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Based on what exactly? Spain processed more than landed in 2024. Same is true for Italy and Greece for that matter. Granted they’re not the only countries that have boat landings in mainland Europe but we’re really only getting the dregs.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Clearly not all of them as less than half the numbers arriving in Spain cross to the UK before you even begin to factor in the numbers arriving in Italy or Greece. For comparison Spain also processed about 100k more asylum applications last year than the UK did. I doubt you’ll ever get a...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

If you desire sure. Spain experiences double the amount of people arriving by small boats than us. Italy and Greece too. Hate to be the person who tells you this but this phenomenon of arriving by small boat’s is not exclusive to the UK.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You can claim asylum anywhere. The vast majority do come on a visa and overstay to become illegal. Even with the increased number in boats, overstay of visas still account for about 80% of all illegal immigrants in the UK. Black market jobs represent about a 10th of the British economy. Your...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You do understand that it isn’t actually illegal to arrive in any country by boat. Including ours.
