Conceding from set pieces was a hangover from last season, in fact it was piss poor defending from a corner away at Sunderland in the play off semi final second leg, that ended our dream of promotion.

Well by your logic, keeping 2 clean sheets on the bounce in the championship for the first time this season is also an anomaly then. As is playing against 10 men on saturday, and getting an own goal. FYI. ive predicted us to win tonight bt 2 anomalies to 1

What am I on about ????? Wtf are you on about with this anomalies bollocks ffs!!!! The numbers are just numbers they aren't anomalies at all, i hate to be the one to break it to you but its football, goals happen or dont happen, in large numbers or small numbers or none at all. Anomalies...

That's always been the case, but all goals count even if they are "anomalies" if we conceed from a set piece tonight, would that be an anomaly too or have anomalies finished for this season?

So scoring goals AND conceding goals is an anomaly??? 🤔 Is 15 goals in 3 games an anomaly too Or how about 18 in 7 ??? Tell us, when does it stop being an anomaly?

W We were definately poor at set pieces in the first few games, but we've only conceded 1 goal in the last three games, and that was from open play, and the keeper and centre halves have looked better of late, there's definately an understanding developing.

Its not just been 7 games though has it, its been 10 months since Lampard took over. Look at our form over those 10 months.

We've got a team we should believe in, but you've only got to look at the Millwall thread to see how many fuckin wets would settle for a point before a balls even been kicked. Bunch of pussies all of them.

Yea, if we lose Rudoni and EMC we'd be in big trouble ........ oh hang on ....

    Positive Haji

Im sure his improved recent form has absolutely nothing to do with the world cup being in America next summer. But it could certainly help us get promoted.

    NEXT 2 GAMES

Tbf he's never been managed by Lampard before, if Frank can have the kind of impact on Eccles that he has on Torp and Rudoni, then the future is bright for the lad.

    Judging the Frank Lampard change

That's the same for every manager.

    Judging the Frank Lampard change

Im delighted with what Lampard is doing here, and I was one who didn't want MR to be sacked, but its also worth pointing out what MR is doing at Stoke, he has guided them to an excellent start to this season too, although I think their squad depth is far worse than ours, so I'd be...

    Recruitment

You have to earn the right to start games, and Simms hasn't. That's why Lampard doesn't play him, and that's why he's third choice. If we bring another striker in during the January window, then Simms will be fourth choice. Those are the only stats that matter.

And???? They've managed 1 win in the last 5, a scrappy 1-0 against a very poor Watford. We are second in the league, we are the highest scorers in the championship, we have the 2 top scorers in this league, we are unbeaten, we are full of confidence, we are man for man better than them...

Why? They aren't Brazil. If we are serious about getting promotion we really need to be beating mid table fodder like Millwall.

    Torp X factor

Look at where he started his run for the third goal yesterday, he gambled and bust a gut to get into the box, where as the Birmingham players around him were all ball watching and left behind him. That looked like Frank Lampard in his prime. After only 7 games, he's only 1 goal behind his...

    Recruitment

All the strikers have scored reasonably consistently, except Simms who had an all to brief purple patch which has skewed his stats somewhat. There's also been times when he's been accused of not giving 100%, and he has definitely passed up an awful lot of easy chances to score, like...
