    The Ricoh..

Luckily if you live in Coventry you never see them!

    4pm on Saturday

From past experience we all know what happens then. The fans all splinter off into small groups arguing over who is to blame and you end up with a protest attended by a handful of people. It needs the trust, who are keen to keep reminding everyone they are the biggest fans group, to get this...

    The Ricoh..

I'm going to hazard a guess that SISU take their legal advise from lawyers and legal experts rather than football fans :woot:

    The Ricoh..

Wouldn't be the first time either. There was the time the club were working on the deal that had just ended. They said they were expecting to make an announcement before Xmas as the deal was pretty much done then Wasps took it off the table and it went to the last minute. Not to mention when...

    The Ricoh..

So basically the same rubbish Gilbert has put out and nothing they've confirmed for themselves. No reason the complaint to the European Commission made in February should cause talks that have been going on for the last three weeks. As far as I'm concerned if Wasps & the council are putting...

    The Ricoh..

The point is this story broke late yesterday and Wasps claimed to have no knowledge of it. The twitter accounts all fired up again 48 hours ago, how did they know something was incoming if its not a coordinated PR move? But your comment is exactly the spin they will put on it and what they want...

    The Ricoh..

Would that be the lease that they voted to extend at the same meeting they voted to sell the Ricoh to Wasps but which is now claimed by the council to be completely unrelated to the sale and a totally separate issue?

    The Ricoh..

Its clearly co-ordinated, only have to look at the accounts that fired up in the 48 hours before Gilbert dropping this out. If, as Sky are now claiming, talks have collapsed, what are the odds that its Wasps who have pulled out and this has been put out to get ahead of the story and have...

    The Ricoh..

Complete non-story then. Just Gilbert shit stirring. Will not be happy him spouting off yesterday has impacting on the talks for the club to play at the Ricoh next season.

    The Ricoh..

If correct the key question is did the talks stop before or after Gilbert started stirring things up.

    The Ricoh..

I have concerns about what is essentially blackmail being used to try and force a legal challenge against a public body to be withdrawn when it involved Wasps. If it doesn't involve them there is no excuse for them then using that as a reason for not allowing the club to stay at the Ricoh...

    The Ricoh..

Personally I will be pissed off if him revealing this leads to talks collapsing. The local media were quite happy to keep the councils bailout of ACL out of the spotlight to allow that to go through, why not apply the same standard to the football club? The 'in the public interest' argument is...

    The Ricoh..

Will wait for more to emerge before panicking. Gilberts already changed his story once and it was only a few days ago he was telling us the Ricoh deal was all done so will take this with a pinch of salt. If there is something to it we have to see what the detail is. Not worth panicking over...

    Wasps downward spiral...

How cringeworthy. Would be embarrassed if we did something like that.

48 hours away from expulsion / New Ricoh Talks!

Wasn’t Martin Reeves, formerly a senior figure at ACL and currently Chief Exec of Cov Council also Chief Exec of the West Midlands Combined Authority at one point?

48 hours away from expulsion / New Ricoh Talks!

I get that but Wasps have done it with 2 of their 3 biggest sponsorship opportunities. Only the naming rights of the stadium remain which they can’t sell. Seems the work they are getting done in return is relatively low cost.

48 hours away from expulsion / New Ricoh Talks!

Why do all Wasps sponsorship deals seem to not involve them getting any money? First it was the WiFi with Ericsson and now getting a decent phone signal with Vodafone. You could get the impression that Wasps don’t have the money to carry out the required works themselves.

    Bolton Troubles

No it’s not. From memory it was something like ACL thought they were being clever and could get Haskell in as a new owner but it turned out assets that constitute the football club, things like the golden share that was ‘lost’ and player registrations, were in another company. Buying the...

    Wasps downward spiral...

What happened to being the richest club in Europe? Even the biggest Wasps fan can’t spin this as anything but bad news, no money to bring in players and can’t even offer a contract to a coach without getting special permission.

    Tee Total

I'm not a big drinker. Mainly as I've got older then hangovers last longer! Plus like you say if you drink at gigs at things like that you can easily spend a small fortune. For gigs I often volunteer to drive, better than messing around with public transport and makes not drinking easy.
