Match Thread Coventry City vs. Gillingham Match Thread - Saturday 24th Aug

Fair play to Jodi Jones, he seems to be at every game despite being out for pretty much 2 years. Always see pics of him in the family zone. Judging by twitter he turns up at the U23 games as well.

Its got to be something on the EFL side. The company that run ifollow also do a lot of lower league ice hockey in North America and I've never had a problem with that which would indicate the problem is before it gets to them to distribute. You'd think that after them forgetting to have things...

It must be counter productive. The way he is always carrying on the officials must get sick of him.

Maybe that's where Fisher has found some land for a stadium.

If a replacement isn't turning up quickly head to Birmingham International and get a train to New St. Its only a 10 minute journey.

    Maddison to Ireland?

What's he actually said? Can't find any quotes from him. Only thing that comes up on google is an article from an Irish paper saying Mick McCarthy is keen on it.

Cllr Jim O'Boyle about the council / land for stadium

Surprised its taken this long for this to pop up on the radar. I guess Brum were hopeful they'd get a new ground out of the Commonwealth Games. In many ways the NEC is ideal. You won't get a ground with better transport links. Over 16,500 parking spaces, even if its not strictly under the same...

Cllr Jim O'Boyle about the council / land for stadium

The NEC? Was owned by Birmingham council but they had to sell it to cover the cost of paying female staff the same as their male equivalents. Sold it to Lloyds Bank for £300m in 2015. Lloyds have just sold it for £800m to an investment firm called Blackstone. There's been some talk of a...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Sums up Wasps really. Not enough interest in the club itself so they have to find another way to get people interested.

But in practice how would it work? Take us as an example. When SISU came in they would have passed any F&P test. So when it became clear they weren't, a few years down the line, is the expectation that the club are thrown out of the league? Don't see how that is good for supporters? He talks of...

    England cricket 2019

Normally team A would bat first then B, then A again then B. If you follow on it goes A, B, then B again and then A if needed. So if team A scores a shed load of runs and team B is then all out and still more 200 or more behind team A can enforce the follow on. Which means team B bats again...

Can't see anyway out of this one. Weather forecast looks good and even if Englands bowlers can get the Aussies out for around 200 again there's little chance of England chasing 300 plus.

Just as well we can't follow on. If we could you wouldn't bet against being all out again before the close.

Its a nice soundbite but how would it work in practice. How do you stop people who the law of the land says are allowed to from buying and selling businesses? And even if you could do that how are they going to know what is coming 1, 2 or 5 years down the line. Most of the time when we hear...

Be lucky to make 100 at this rate. Also needs to be well managed. England don't have a good record in recent years of keeping emerging bowlers injury free.

Thought Italia was back for a minute, that was one of his favourite assertions. Although he never could explain why having their own ground is unaffordable for CCFC yet doesn't seem to present an issue for so many other clubs.
