    A stay aways tale

I think even before the end of last season we realised SISU were not going anywhere. I still detest them and want them gone. However credit where it is due. They have finally appointed the right person for the job in TM who in turn has assembled the right back room staff and brought in decent...

    Concourse

So you are as popular there as you are on here? No wonder the concours is rammed on the other side.

    Stadium Layout

We have to keep the stand that is open full. If we get demand above that, the spillage can go behind the goal.

    Is This The Sweetest Sight

I have to say 37 points and it's not even December. I have known us to be approaching the last few games of the season with 37 points it would be nice to know we have avoided relegation by Christmas...just because I can't remember that ever happening?

    Guess the gate

It was a good gate today and I thought we would get around 15000. Now we need to try and keep bums on seats and maintain 14-15000. If we can stay in the mix come Easter I can see us pulling 20000 plus on a run in.

    Top Of The League

I agree enjoy it. But the hard part is staying there and leading the pack. I can remember going to Coventry v Norwich when they were 1st and 2nd in the Premier League, but it didn't last...so if you don't mind I am not going to get too carried away. One game at a time and all that.

    Murphy - our secret weapon

However on TV highlights they kept calling Murphy by his brothers name who had been shown scoring earlier for his team in the highlights package. The cat might not be fully out the bag hat trick or not.

    John Fleck

Not taking anything away from him, but play makers need movement from other players, they need options...we have those players now. It often isn't about tactics it is about players having the confidence to want the ball and making the runs to get the into areas where they can be given the ball.

    Maddison

We have done well enough without him. So hopefully he can recover and get fit properly rather than rushed back.

    Murphy - our secret weapon

Well he was a secret weapon until you went public on the Internet....I hope you don't work in Counter Intelligence?

So what have we learned Today?

Let's not hold a big price tag against Bigi, he didn't put the value on himself did he? Other sources lumbered him with that. Newcastle was a huge opportunity for him, you can't blame him for taking it. It seemed to start well enough for him. his career isn't over yet and he could still prove...

    Gillingham fans sounding like durham

I remember our fans moaning about Armstrong, Kent and Murphy playing for England....and that was before the game they were missing from had even kicked off. Every side has fans who are poor losers and poor excusers...don't gloat too soon.

So what have we learned Today?

I agree with most of that, but Stokes bargain of all time? Sit down and take your temperature. Stuart Pearce, Ian Wallace, Dean Emmerson and Gary Gillespie were all superior bargains. I agree with what you say about Fleck....but isn't that to do with the fact play makers need movement in...

    Gillingham (Home) Match Thread

Great result. Murphy coming into his own. Nice to see Turner get on the Sheet. You can't have everything.....so Cole and Bigi in need of fitness is not the end of the world.

Gillingham were my tip to be the suprise package. I expect them to go all the way. Should be a very entertaining game.

    Phillips

I wasn't expecting Roland Nilsson when we got Roland Nissan, but what a player. Just looked class and never needed to get out of second gear. Trevor Peak was similar in the centre of defence, just sweeping up.

    Cole

I did warn people he has hardly played since 2013. I suspect we are contributing very little to his wages and just giving him a chance to get fit...but I doubt he will.

Butts Park Arena is new home

You mean like how we could have bought the derelict boozer over the road when we were at Highfield Road? i watch rugby at the Butts. You could expand to 12000, 15000 at a push but there would be no car parking. park and ride Memorial Park full. City car parks pretty full on Saturdays. Fair...

Butts Park Arena is new home

If Higfield Road didn't have the land to develope then can I point out the Butts is smaller.

Butts Park Arena is new home

The location is great but tight. You could get a 12000-15000 stadium with a lot of investment. but there would be no room for parking or the accommodation for the additional outlets/revenue streams SISU have been preaching they need. unless CCC are planning on knocking the Spon End estate...
