Match Thread Hull (A) Friday 15th September

Is Godden a top 6 striker? No he isn’t. Is he better than Simms at the moment? Probably. Easy decision for Robins to choose him at the moment because he’s scoring. But he needs to get over his favouritism when he doesn’t because he doesn’t contribute enough.

I bet you were given a week off by the boss when you got back.

Just saw Ellis Simms mooching around Earlsdon. Someone should tell him we've got a game on Fri and to stop slacking. He’s played about 90 mins of football in a month. I’m surprised he can walk. Needs another week off at least.

Only if we have a thread on Robin’s weakness in getting a fit, athletic squad.

For the hard of thinking... if you are a fit athletic professional committed footballer have a nice holiday. If you are blowing out your arse after 60 minutes game after game, google ‘athlete’ and ‘professional’, have a look at yourself and sort the fooker out pronto.

Poor dears. Most of them wouldn’t last a day in the NHS. Pampered as fook.

We have had fitness and injury problems for years. MR and the coaching staff have been weak on this. It needs looking at.

A professional footballer who wants to get anywhere with their career should be an athlete capable of contributing 90 mins+ The fact many can’t do that and apparently have to be made to do it in training rather than as a lifestyle is disappointing especially for the money they are getting.

    Next season

It’s also interesting to think about where Doug is going to make money out of the player squad in the next few years. Who will be developed to be a real sellable money spinner? Quite a few young players bought in but at quite a high price. I guess the answer is they have to be good enough to...

    Match Thread Watford (h)

Just for info. Boro and Swansea are amongst the weakest teams in the league atm. Watford are very average. A lot of tougher games to come.

Our midfield - do we have problems?

We can't carry on as we are. Else we will be in trouble by the time COH, Allen are back.

Our midfield - do we have problems?

You missed the bit about getting overrun in midfield.

Our midfield - do we have problems?

The main problem is basically playing 3 upfront and getting overrun in midfield. Godden and particularly Palmer just dont have the engine or inclination to help commit to fix that big problem. I guess Palmer has to be benched for Ayari, Sakamoto because we cant carry on like this and Godden is...

Tbh I always thought Sick Boy was an alternate Grendel account. Something very odd about it.

    Wobbly back 3

Thomas and Kitching are young players who have never played at this level. A big learning curve.

    Ratings v watford

I assume Kitchin has been brought in to play with his ex-team mate Thomas. A bit of a worry as the Barnsley fans describe kitchin as a good attacking centre back but a poor defender :0 (

Shame Wright didn't score amongst today's chaos. Him and Simms need to score well this season and we need their confidence building.

I always have a good look at new signings before deciding if they’re any good. Kitchin looks like a wrong un to me. Guaranteed crapper.

Let's face it with Palmer it almost 3 upfront. Godden does very little high midfield support work and Palmer is Palmer.
