    Measuring The Tories

Expect those who wanted to 'take back control' and were outraged at the EU having unelected officials will be up in arms at this. Sure its in no way linked to her overseeing the investigation into the £100K Arcuri was given which cleared Johnson of any wrongdoing.

    Wasps downward spiral...

Could be a case that the idea is out there but the specifics are off. You'd have to think if it is being discussed in any meaningful way Wasps have to be a candidate given they're already shown they are willing to move halfway across the country. You could move them again with little resistance.

    General Election 2019 thread

At one point I hoped we might see the more centrist Conservative and Labour MPs move across to the Lib Dems and end up with 3 roughly equal parties. Seems there was too many egos involved for that to happen. Suspect if they had done that more might have followed, was always a tough sell to get...

Don't worry, we've got a Conservative West Midlands mayor. Sure everyone remembers him promising to end homelessness as soon as he was elected, wonder if he'll be mentioning that in his campaign literature for the May elections?

    Measuring The Tories

Anyway lets get back to the Tories after yet another thread has become Grendel bashing Labour and Corbyn. Over the course of the parliament you'd hold them up against their election promises. Not sure I have much confidence there given what's happened following the last couple of elections...

    General Election 2019 thread

None at all, no reason why UKIP can't become a party that favours unlimited immigration or the Brexit Party support remain. Personally I like to have a choice and going back to 'New Labour' and that choice being between a blue Tory and a red Tory doesn't exactly inspire. That raises the issue...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Odd rumour via some Exeter fans at work. Apparently the club currently top, Newcastle, is the club they want in the Premiership before they shut off promotion and relegation. That presents the problem that one of Wasps or Leicester seem likely candidates for relegation. Seems both clubs have...

Something needs to happen, broadband provision in this country is appalling. Rare that a week passes at work where I'm not dealing with issues caused by poor broadband for a company reliant on it.

    New Labour Leader

Given how often he changes parties he'll have worked his way back round to Labour in time for the leadership contest!

Don't know much about her but her performance on Marr yesterday didn't really give the impression she was leadership material.

    General Election 2019 thread

Shouldn't the Labour Party be left wing? Not sure many of the policies are that 'out there' compared to left wing parties in other parts of the world. Maybe it shows a flaw in FPTP which doesn't really allow for anything more than a two party system. Or maybe it shows that everything has...

    General Election 2019 thread

In which case lets stop subsidising things. At the moment is we're caught between state owned and privately owned. Taxpayers are expected to fund the non-profit making parts of an industry while others walk off with the profits. If we're rejecting publicly owned shouldn't we see that through to...

    Wasps downward spiral...

So 20,000 Harlequins fans coming up for the game. They are absolutely hammering the advertising, must be costing them a few quid. Between that and the tickets they're giving away could be the first sell out to lose money!

    Wasps downward spiral...

The odd thing in that thread is that more people seem to be concerned about going bust than being relegated. We can overreact on here but when we are struggling people aren't posting that we're about to go out of business.
