Don't understand the mentality of some people to want to do something like that.

For any particular reason or just to keep the big clubs happy? They do this sort of thing and then wonder why people don't hold the cup in same regard they did years ago.

Maybe that sort of interference is more common than we think. There was a documentary on QPR a few years ago and their owner was sending messages down to the bench during games telling the manager what to do. Wouldn't be surprised if its far more common than we hear about.
