CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

WTF, I was wondering how you'd made that look like a real Telegraph link. Can't believe that is actually a genuine article.

Pay cuts at Premier League clubs

I think the point they are making is they aren't the only ones who are on large salaries but they seem to be the only ones being called out to take a cut.

How many MPs have taken a pay cut?

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

How many meetings did they have to come up with we'll postpone everything until this is over?!?

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

It's a minimum of three weeks so presumably they've been told nothing is happening anytime soon and the players won't need to be back in training this month.

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

Player have probably been sent home with instructions for training alone as they would be at the end of the season to keep their fitness up. Most of the office staff will have nothing to do, not like we can even push season tickets for next year as we didn't have them on sale anyway and don't...

You can tell the Mirror and the Telegraph have the same owners

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

Assume they would hope to offset lost ticket revenue by opening up ifollow to domestic viewers and / or extra tv payments to allow more games to be shown.

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

This is pretty much a perfect example of what the scheme was designed for. People who have no work to do. What does he think footballers are doing at the moment?

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

Fair enough. If there's no work to do then no need for them to be working. Also worth highlighting the club are paying the 20% the government isn't paying so all staff will get their full salary. Not sure furloughing is going to work out like the government expected. There's an article on the...

Trump certainly has questions to answer. Closing the White House pandemic office to save money isn't looking the smartest plan now. Also the Americans had an epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency to ensure the information they got out of China was correct. That position was...

What test was he referring to? I've only heard mention of the diagnostic test, to see if you currently have it, and the antibody test, to see if you have had it at any point.

Not sure what EU freedom of movement has to do with a worldwide pandemic. In any case its not my job to come up with the solution, that's the role of government. I was simply pointing out that it is wrong to dismiss any failings of the government with 'no one could have predicted this' when it...

Probably one for BSB but don't grade boundaries usually get set after making has taken place to ensure you don't get a sudden change due to the test itself changing year to year? If so you'd assume they would just apply the same principle.

Not to single you out as I've seen similar comments all over social media but this hasn't come out of nowhere. There's been warnings for literally years about this kind of thing happening. There's even reports viewable online into the changes made to the NHS under the 2012 Health and Social...

Should have known better than to defend the government! What an absolute shambles. So Hancock is promising 100K tests a day in England, a combination of diagnostic and antibody tests but at the same time saying the tests we have don't work. That's before you even consider Johnsons target back...

Not seen the interview you're referring to but aren't people mixing up different tests? The one people are angry about is testing to see if people currently have it. So you've got a quarter of NHS staff sat at home with symptoms who could be tested and if negative return straight to work. I...

That's basically the response I got when I raised it. As always with these things you end up in a tricky position as an employee as if you push back too hard you're viewed as a troublemaker, particularly if some of the other furloughed staff are happy to do whatever they are told no questions...

Not sure my company has really understood how furlough is supposed to work. Today is suppsoed to be my last day but apparently I should keep checking emails, attending team meetings, updating documentation, doing training etc. The only thing I can't do is contact our customers.

Hopefully when this is all over one of the things that will come out of it is a look at how employees are treated and how one sided things can be. I know you changed to a fixed term position but the number of people who aren't considered permanent employess and have been left to sort themselves...
