Agree with Otis, Grendel and Clint (and you too CJ) all in the same thread - can't believe such an average player is given such airtime. I think whoever employs him does so in the secret hope that he might have an Oliver Reed type meltdown (though through ignorance, rather than alcohol)

Chesterfield - what were their expectations? Some strange results in this league. If we keep our defensive record anywhere near what it is (or even a tad worse) we will be thereabouts.

For me he is like having a 'manager' on the pitch. Younger players must look at him and feel reassured with him alongside them, when they face up to the older more intimidating opposition players. We have a few kids (Grimmer, Jones, Ponticelli etc) out there, so a 'Doyle' is a big plus for me/them.

Jack Grimmer seemed a nice lad ....and seemed soooo young. Doyler came across as a top, top bloke, who seems to love the club - says his family will live in the area after his career is over. Combined positivity with level headedness (made up word!)
