    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Didn't see todays update but after weeks of being told masks are pointless and all the other countries where mask wearing is occurring wasting their time they're now talking about bringing it in here?

Conservatives didn't seem so concerned about misleading information being online during the election campaign. In fact I seem to recall it was them creating it.

Most irritating things during the pandemic

I'm furloughed but have to attend meetings (via zoom not in person). When it was raised that if we're furloughed we shouldn't be in meetings the repose was 'we've spoken to a professional, they know more than you from googling'.

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

You can easily have a rule regarding what happens if fixtures can't be completed. 1) all fixtures must be completed by June 30 2) if fixtures can't be completed by June 30 the season is void / current positions stand / PPG / no promotion relegation / some other solution Doesn't really matter...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

Judges don't rule in favour of what is morally right, if they did SISU would be wiping the floor with the council! They rule based on the facts so the EFL would need to point to the rules of the competition that support their actions. Is there anything in the rules that says a season can be...

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

Did note that most of the other centres being used have said in their press releases they were providing the venue free of charge. No mention of it from Wasps, Sure are local paper will be right on it.

    Bristol City Captain

Not sure that all adds up. Can't complete this season because we've lost 8 weeks but can lose 24 weeks next season and play a complete season with more teams? And if this season is being called why does it matter about player contracts past June? You either sign players for next season or you...

The neighbours clearly aren't getting enough visitors with 3 generations of family constantly turning up and now have some mates round.

Having told councils to spend 'whatever it takes' to tackle the crisis it seems that now councils are asking the government for the money they aren't getting it. Liverpool Echo is reporting they put in a claim for £78m and have got £34m. After 10 years of austerity, which saw £436m drop in...

    Proud to work at HMRC

That seems high, what's the background there? People giving incorrect information or is there genuinely 2.5 million people who aren't going to get anything?

Flip side to that would be the 'we can't make a difference' argument goes out the window. The changes might only be superficial but its obvious to anyone the impact getting cars off the road etc has had.

That's easy enough to solve isn't it? Just have a play off in pre-season whenever we start back up.

But all those other employers are staying open and there's nothing in the government guidelines to stop them staying open. The only applicable restriction, as far as I can tell, is on public gatherings which playing BCD solves. Other than that the current guidelines allow travel to a place of...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Nothing but you'd think even our council would struggle to be that dump when there's an ongoing state aid issue. Anything that isn't transparent and open to all is going to be so obvious even the Telegraph would have to report on it.

I'll be fuming if they manage to find a way to void our season but still have Liverpool win the PL.

    Wasps downward spiral...

Said this when they did the original bond issue, the danger was always there that by the time they needed to refinance there would be some actual trading history to look at rather than their fairy tale business plan. Everyone seemed to dismiss it and think they could just easily refinance but as...

Nor me, I've been trying to rely on the local shop but they seem to have less and less every week. Not being helped by my parents not grasping the reality of the situation and moaning if I don't bring exactly what is on their shopping list. Even tried waiting until midnight thinking they might...
