That was the issue the first time round. In reality it was take this or potentially lose your job although you'd assume if they wanted to start making people redundant they couldn't just go with people who refused furlough and would have to go though the usual process. My concern here was it...

Won't be happy if that comes in. Like many others I had to agree to be furloughed as my employment contract didn't cover it. There's a big difference between people getting 80% of their salary, which once you take off the cost of commuting for a lot of people isn't a huge hit (obviously the...

Thought similar. The worrying thing is that was prerecorded, presumably as they don't trust him not to mess it up live. But given its prerecorded and therefore could have taken multiple takes the implication is that was as good and as clear as they could get it. Johnsons performance was like...

Just seen a useful summary of tonight's speech so I thought I'd copy it here to help everyone understand: Stay alert. If not staying home. Stay home if not being alert. Go to work. If not working at home. Work from home if possible. If not working from home don't use public transport to get to...

If nothing has changed why has Johnson made an announcement about it? At present you're allowed to drive for exercise and the police have been told to operate on the principle that the time exercising has to be longer than the time driving. By making an announcement that you can now drive to...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Wouldn't that be more related to contracts and insurance than competition rules? In any case it would likey need epidemic or pandemic to be specifically mentioned. Will be tricky to argue it as an unforeseen event given its been at the top of the National Risk Register for years as something...

    Birmingham don’t want us

Aren't we on an initial 3 year deal at St Andrews?

    Birmingham don’t want us

Whoever runs that account is an idiot. They've also claimed its not possible to start next season at Birmingham and then come back to the Ricoh. We came back from Northampton part way through a season and Boddy has previously said the Birmingham deal allows us to come back part way through a...

Ignoring the morals of it etc there's a huge flaw with what IDS has said. The person who is furloughed isn't the one making the decision, that's down to the employers.

People couldn't grasp 'stay home' as it was seemingly too complicated, no chance with this. You don't have to be an expert in subliminal advertising to spot the change from red to green. Subtle as a sledgehammer.

    Bundesliga going ahead

Chaos might well be the Mail overstating things, shocking I know, as it only impacts two matches and it seems the whole squad being quarantined is down to the state of Saxony going against the Governments agreed protocol.

    Sick of the Telegraph

This is the problem with clickbait. There's only so long it works for and when it stops working you've lost all your readers. The Athletic model is interesting. I'd be more than happy to pay a few quid a month for the Telegraph if the CCFC coverage was decent.

    Can we compete

At the best of times its hard to call these things. We had people saying we'd struggle in L1 and people saying the team that got us promoted would walk L1. We've got no idea who is coming in / going out and the added issue of not knowing if the league will start as usual and be in the usual...

But the issue with our borders and the issue with releasing people from immigration centres is both down to our government, we can't pass the blame onto someone else. Both are the responsibly of the Home Office. Its not down to something like the EU stopping us doing what we want.

Doesn't that prove the opposite? Shows we have control of our borders from a legal perspective but at just very bad at policing them and enforcing any restrictions.

In the unlikely event the season restarting what makes you think that an out of contract player, who is therefore earning zero, is going to turn down a 2-3 month contract extension?

Most irritating things during the pandemic

VE Day. Obviously not the day itself but we've had days of 'hope everyone is getting ready for a street party' on the local Facebook group followed by loads of idiots spending today ignoring social distancing to drink beer on each other drives. Now the Facebook page is full off 'so proud'...

He also says about the current number of infections "we think the real number is in the millions", is he really suggesting there are millions of people currently infected but they're all in care homes or hospitals? That doesn't seem to add up unless I'm missing something.
