Match Thread Coventry City - Crewe Alexandra Match Thread - Saturday 30th Sep

Yeah, and I bet they don't all come by train either - hypocrites.

    Finally some good news

Fixed rates are calculated using the market's expectations of where rates will go in the future, which is only loosely connected to the current BoE rate. I happened to have fixed for 2 years with Barclays 2 months ago. Just checked and their rate has already gone up 0.1% since then.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Momentum were out in huge numbers during the election on social media, spreading disinformation and bile. They have abated for now but I understand they are plotting further unrest via other means - not looking forward to finding out what it is. Anyway, their line appeared to be that Corbyn...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Yep, agree with most of this. Fox hunting ffs, what were they thinking? I'd add that I think the brexit referendum was also motivated by nicking ukip's votes in 2015. I agree with brexit, not be cause I'm selfish but because I believe it is best for everyone (UK and Europe). But that doesn't...

We're walking this league: shots stats prove it

No such thing as luck. These stats show that we are controlling games but inefficient at turning that control into points. Don't mean to be negative, it's great that we are controlling games. Robbins needs to figure out how to fix the goal scoring inefficiency and then we will be talking. I...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Remind me again, which politician took financial regulation away from the bank of England, set up the FSA and boasted about light touch regulation during his Mansion House speech?

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

I didn't say we had an equal society, there is no such thing. We have a fair society, where people who want to put extra in and earn more may do so. If you punish those people, then that would be an unfair society. It would also be disastrous for everyone else when they vote with their feet...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

We have a fair society, where people who work harder or smarter earn more and pay more, but not yet prohibitively more, tax. A fairer society is the left wing euphemism for 'vote for us so we can Duck the country up'

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Some people on zhc will certainly prefer a contract. These people can use them to get experience and then move on. We are presently at close to economic zero unemployment. If they want a different job they will find it. Some people will want their zhc. Ban them and you do a disservice to...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Nobody is permitted to depend on them tony. You may not go there every day. No matter how much money people get, some will spend it all and run out of food some times. The only way to stop them being used is to close them.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

I was mostly referring to increasing the minimum wage. Although labour uses zhc as another stick, not all people actually want anything different. Students being a great example. There has always been casual labour and as a student myself I did it. Ban it and these people will lose out...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Just basic supply and demand. Increase the price of a commodity and all other things being equal, demand reduces.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

???? Not voting labour is selfish? Echoes of Caitlin Moran's c**t tweet.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Cannot agree with any of that. How can someone paying 60% in tax and ni pay less of their income in tax than someone paying nothing, or at the lowest band?
  15. mrtrench

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

It will be a mixture, clearly. If he raises taxes the take may not reduce, or may not reduce for years as it filters through. But we would never know if the take would have been higher had he let them be. In all honesty, business will up sticks just on the election through fear of what he will...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

This food bank stuff is just being used by labour to grab power. For starters, nobody is dependent on them as visiting them is limited , they are intended as emergency stop gaps due to cash flow issues. Secondly, the increase in usage can at least partially be explained by the Tories allowing...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Have a moment more. Clearly only a fool would claim that a multi variable function had an effect entirely from one variable changing. However, the relationship between tax rate and take is known to not be monotonically increasing. And it makes sense intuitively too. The higher the rate the...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Can find or google yourself. I'm out and about so can find later. The economic theory is called the laffer curve.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

The last time corporation tax rates fell, the take increased and so did income tax take. Laffer curve in action. However McDonnell knows loads more than me about economics so it will all be fine.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

As he has pledged that all economic consequences of doing them are now illegal, it will all be brilliant.
