Who was in Mexico last week?

I understand they were celebrating Carlos Baquero Day there

    Match Packages on Sale

It was just the single visit that I had to make in order to buy the package, after that doing the actual match ticket part was all online as normal, didn't need to keep going back or anything.

New Signing about to be announced - Jonson Clarke-Harris

Happy with this. I'm getting worryingly optimistic about next season.

    Match Packages on Sale

I use an NUS card to get the concession price so had to buy in person, although at no point did they actually ask to see it so they really just went on trust.

    Match Packages on Sale

I'm fairly certain they remain on sale until the point they no longer make sense when there's only a handful of games to go.

How does that kind of spread compare to this year? I know Russia covers a good few time zones but it looks fairly concentrated in the west and Kalinigrad so I can't get a sense of the scale.

U-21 manager Celades is taking over for the tournament instead by the looks of it. EDIT: Hierro and Celades together

    Match Packages on Sale

I went with the match package option last season for the first time so I'm doing it again this year, it's so much easier than the headache I was half expecting. The only minor convenience was having to go to the Butts on a weekday to buy it, but absolute breeze otherwise.

We should really get Scotland onboard for a joint hosting bid at 2030, if only so they can actually qualify for a tournament for once.

    Match Packages on Sale

Notice that the 12-match package is cheaper than it was for 17/18 which is a lovely surprise, there was no difference in £ per game last season between the 6 and 12

    The World Cup Thread

Agreed, that's why I'm not looking forward to the 48-team tournament they're planning for 2026. 16 and 32-team formats work so to be honest if they really must expaned further I'd skip straight to 64 so it's still bloated, but at least the group stage has a 50% survival rate and retains a bit of...

The Spanish FA were going to ditch Lopetegui immediately for taking the Real Madrid job, but the players have stepped in to keep the manager in place for the tournament by the sounds of it. I love a good meltdown

Portugal two years ago are the inspiration I'm looking towards, didn't win a single group game and their only 90 min win in the entire tournament was in the semi. Proper grind.

The qualifying stage looked a bit tasty, group stage with Scotland, Wales and N.I and then a playoff against Spain.

We've only got past the quarters of any tournament outside of England once in our history at Italia 90. We finished third at Euro '68 too, but that was made up of four teams to begin with so probably shouldn't count as a great success.

Apparently 'neither' is actually one of the options, if enough people select it they then ditch the continental rotation and allow bids from Europe and Asia. I'd be surprised if the big North American bid doesn't win it though
