    8th Biggest Budget

Are you talking whole budget or a section of it like wages? Then there is squad size, youth schemes, also retention and how long the core of a squad has been together? I would say the more players you bring in each summer lowers the chance of finding quality players. For instance looking for...

    Burge again!

Have always advocated feeding your fullback with a roll out or throw to them. Why spend ages regaining possession for a keeper to hoof it down field and gamble 50/50 on losing possession again?

    Should Mark Robins be sacked?

Another view is who do we actually miss out on in January? In league 1 and 2 it is dross that is available or you are gambling on kids.

    Should Mark Robins be sacked?

Is it Robins doing the hoofing? Or players like Doyle? But to be fair one of his hoofs forward did turn into a spectacular goal. Players are more responsible about what actually happens in game time than the manager.

Exactly and you can't build a team in one window so he has probably over achieved so far this season....But people want him sacked?

    Burge again!

Then you would accuse him of standing still and post a thread titled Burge Again!

Why did he have to sign 12 players? Quantity doesn't mean support or budget.

90 per cent of tactics are implemented by players actions on the pitch not by the manager on the touch line.

FFS! WE ARE STILL ONLY 3 POINTS FROM THE PLAYOFFS!!!

The thing is with football, you don't know were your next goal is coming from, you can't see the team winning, then a great run is just around the corner. Can narrow defeats or draws be turned into wins? The margins are fine. It's a confidence game.

Yes I take your point about an un-balanced squad, but you can't build one in a summer and a sludge pot January window (when in league 1 or 2). If you keep knee jerking you never get past first base. To get a balanced squad takes 3-4 years (unless you have unlimited funds).

Are you with him in training everyday? What do you know what he does or doesn't bring to training everyday or to the dressing room? He achieved a couple of promotions at Burton been there and done it. You approach our squad like a computer game..get back in the real world.

But not a productive point. You are either prepared to pull together one and all; or not. You are advocating some people are better than the squad. Individuals don't win games over a season or lose them.

Criticising formations, tactics is one thing, but once it becomes personal about individuals, it just snowball's and disintegrates a squad. You end up with well what about him and what about your mistake and you havent done any better (a bun fight); well known in sporting psychology circles...

I would ship you straight out for causing divisions in the squad. Everyone is in it together. And everyone capable of making a contribution. Once you point a finger, then all of a sudden you have fingers pointing in loads of directions and your squad is fragmented.

    Poll

Back in the day Liverpool bought players for large sums and sat them on the bench until they had time to gel with their team mates. If you make 3 or 4 signings they aren't all going to hit the ground running.

But you are happy to vote now regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season? For instance we might do well and then be struck down with injuries in the last few games. We could go into the last game 5th lose it and end up seventh or eight. Basically voting to sack him now...

Exactly, you can be left with a floppy foot after the cast comes off. Rehab is slow even if successful.

    Throwing the season away

The title of this thread is throwing the season away. Or should it be Stuttering Progress? We certainly have obvious weaknesses, we were after all truly relegated. Yet people seem quick to judge the January signings who hopefully might kick us on? This season hasn't been a disaster; but it...
