In this day and age a tickle on the ball and a big piece of player isn't enough. No complaints from McFadz either which tells its own story.

The first one is a keepers nightmare straight out of the strikers coaching book. Free header far post executed perfectly down around his ankles.

After conceding so early at Bristol I think we gave them too much respect early on, standing off them and defending deep. QPR just played keep ball and made us run around. Fortunately they thought they had 90 mins to get a 1-0 win. Once you lose control like that it is hard to get it back...

    Is another signing really needed?

Fans need to stop thinking about players and positions and about squad and wage bill. Players with long term injuries are still a wage going out. You can't just keep bringing players in. Our squad is already big when looking at the numbers side. We need to move a couple on and free some...

    Shipley

Some fans seem determined for certain players to fail? Shipley is one of our successes. Good enough to play in the Championship - but unlikely to be poached. Has a great eye for the defence splitting pass and not afraid to take on the shot. A team player and potential future captain in my...

    Whats left then

Hamer, Sheaf and Kelly are our 3 main CDM. Shipley is a temporary default to the position. Cov cant afford a massive squad, so players will have to be flexible to help the club navigate injury problems. Injuries or lack of them may define our season. Unless two or three are permanently...

First half we stood off too much and teams at this level can keep possession all day long. Fortunately they didnt really do anything with it. Shame McFadz went into contact when no need for penalty. But rather than go to piecies he scored the winner. Our first goal was best move of first...

You would have played him tonight then when he can't run Sorry to burst your bubble but Shipley did the job tonight playing out of his natural position. Can't you see how possitive that is for the club going forward?

He might well be. But gave away possession for the corner. Then from corner took ball away from Ostigaard and they scored. That is harsh criticism, but no more than the bollocks thrown at Shipley the last two games.

It should be easier for Shipley starting in an unfamiliar postion rather than reverting to it mid game. Also, I am sure preparation all week has been geared to him starting there. Just back the lad to do the job.

    Max v Baka

Considering the fact we don't have the budget for four quality strikers we could be worse off than have Baka and Max. Both have some strengths along with several weaknesses. Both seem to buy into the Coventry squad together culture - don't underestimate the value of that. I put Baka slightly...

This will be a tough fixture as QPR always seem to start reasonably well. They normally set out to play entertaining football so should be an entertaining game. I can see Sheaf starting on the bench with Robins keeping faith in Shipley for this one.

    Eccles

Excellent opportunity for him. Moving to a new club environment and having to fit in, hopefully getting games and living away from home - will help mature him on and off the pitch. It will bring him on far more than the U23's and odd first team game for us.

    Mark Robins

It is going to be a long tough season. Football is a confidence game - but our recent upward curve and momentum should help us intially. But that can soon drain away with a run of unlucky results. Robins is doing a great job, but people need to manage their expectations this season. Fans...
