    Biamou - new contract

Robins thinking about offering him a new contract is a long way from saying he's going to be a regular in the first team squad. Can't imagine that, in championship terms, he's on a huge amount and while we certainly need to improve the quality of the first choice XI we also need squad players...

Happily divorced. Every Saturday used to be an argument. Although to be fair she probably did have a point with 'why do you bother, they lose every week and it just makes you depressed'. 😁

Nope, same reason I can't go to home games if we're playing outside Cov. I can just about get away with two or three hours to go to a game but anymore than that and it doesn't really work for me.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

All joking aside it is slightly concerning that the things experts are saying need to be done to deal with variants are essentially the same things that were being talked out this time last year that we've pretty much failed to implement. Controlling borders and enforced quarantine, an...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

For the scientists on here is it right that people are talking about vaccines in absolute terms, saying they work or don't work? Is there not a sliding scale, I mean a week off work with manageable symptoms is a lot different to ending up in hospital for weeks and potentially dying but they...

Can only speak for myself but if we're in Brum again next season I won't be at any games, not out of protest just doesn't work for me logistically. I'd happily pay the price of a season ticket to watch the games on ifollow. If we are back in Cov I'll buy a season ticket and go to the games even...

Don't think it would really impact attendances, people that enjoy going to a game will still go to games. Maybe if we've got a midweek game hundreds of miles away in the middle of winter it might put a few off but you can offset that by putting a bit more thought into scheduling fixtures. Those...

Decent point, would def have taken it going into the game given our injury situation. Having said that with the performance we put in can't help but be disappointed not to have won.

Good move but Hamer probably had time to bring it down and take a shot rather than go for the long range header.

Are Sky taking the piss, "a lot of injuries this season for Watford".

    Match Thread Coventry v Watford

Sides pretty much as expected given the lack of options we have at the moment. The only surprise is Biamou in ahead of Gyokeres considering Max is supposedly carrying an injury. Not much in the way of game changing options on the bench.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Cult of Starmer is no different to the cult of Corbyn. Its funny that they're acting exactly the same but are completely oblivious to it.

    Article on town centre development

From the article it seems the new owners haven't even spoken to the council. Suspect its just an investment, they've purchased below value and will hope to sell on for a profit in a post-covid world, hence them not even being named. Where the CT say it was valued at £37m eight years ago do...

Its a Sanspareils Greenlands ball. Never heard of them before this, usually the debate is Duke or Kookaburra. https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/india-vs-england-test-series-darker-red-sg-ball-7173510/

Have they managed to sort out the TV rights yet? Was reading about C4 getting the current test series and it seems that the initial asking price was £20m, Sky and BT said no and C4 eventually got them at the last minute, when there was a concern there would be no coverage at all, for £2m. One...

    All purpose cricket thread

Bit odd that the highlights are only on the C4 streaming service. And even then it took them until nearly 6pm to get them online and they were less than 30 minutes! Think they'll be very happy with the overnight ratings. 1.1m watching, thats more than Sky get for summer Ashes tests! Going well...

In recent days there's been a lot of complaints from those promised funding, such as National League football and Elite League ice hockey, that the terms for the promised funding have been significantly altered so that the funding is now loans and not grants or in some cases even the option of a...
