    You couldn’t make it up!!

Well its a small sample size as I'm just going off people I went to school with so it may not scale but I think the idea that if you left school and took up a trade you'd spend the rest of your life sturggling doesn't really hold true and that's certainly how it was presented at my school. Also...

    You couldn’t make it up!!

No idea if this was just my school having lousy careers advise or was the norm but if you left at 16 with little in the way of qualifications to go and learn a trade you were defiantly given the impression that you'd failed and life was going to be pretty shitty. Similarly if you got a degree...

    Bright and Robins

You'd hope that the contact was stacked in our favour and appearance based so if he decides to not turn up or not put in the effort we aren't paying him much and can easily get rid. Obviously we don't know what is going on behind the scenes but it seems he missed a pre-season game as he turned...

    Training Wear

I can understand that there's lead times and they aren't going to order loads of stock and risk being stuck with it but surely if something proves popular and sells out straight away you re-order? Even if they said orders now won't ship until next year at least let people spend money.

Are they made of glass? There was an issue with vaccine vials as we'd closed the UK based factory that manufactured the glass and therefore had to import which meant being in competition with other countries. Could be something similar.

    You couldn’t make it up!!

Obviously short term there's issues, and annoyingly they were issues that were warned of and those warnings ignored, but hopefully in the long term it will lead to better pay and conditions. Not holding my breath though. In my industry for years there's been skills shortages and every company...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Watching the news this morning see we've reverted back to claiming infection doesn't occur in schools. Must be a coincidence that every time schools or universities go back there's a big surge in cases. Also being reported that Scotland are looking at bringing in vaccine passports. Not entirely...

Doesn't that date back to the Burnley chairman in the 60s thinking that if a game was on TV nobody would show up to watch Burnley? These things can be changed if there's the will, an exemption was made last season so it clearly can be done. Just seems to be turning down revenue from people who...

This was a few years ago, think Wembley use Parallel Ads now to change the pitch side advertising depending on where they're sending the feed to. Edit: looked it up to check I wasn't going mad! Put it in a quote to stop it taking up the entire page.

Believe Wembley is setup so cameras can be on either side. Sure I've been to games where there's been the English camera crews on one side and the overseas broadcaster on the other, complete with different advertising for each broadcaster.

    Sky Blues Trust AGM

AGM minutes are on the website, must have been a short meeting. http://www.skybluetrust.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=730:sky-blue-trust-agm-2021&catid=124&Itemid=86 They've also done a mail out asking for volunteers:

    Wasps ticket prices

Doesn't that mean that once teams are out of the running to win it the games become dead rubbers? Not sure watching two teams who have nothing to play for going through the motions in a glorified friendly is an incentive to part with £50.

    Safe Standing

As with other things its only seemed to be an issue when it was football fans. Don't recall the government ever suggesting the likes of Glastonbury or Reading Fest should be all seater for safety reasons. Hope this gets implemented at most grounds. If only because it will mean that people who...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Nor can I but worth pointing out that prior to covid the health secretary was speaking to legal advisors about making other vaccinations compulsory due to rates dropping so maybe its not that far fetched to think compulsory vaccinations could be introduced at some stage. Imagine there would be...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

If you assume everyone who hasn't had a first dose is actually anti-vax, which is a huge stretch, that puts the number at under 6.4m. By comparison there's 3.8m people who are CEV. The current advise from the government is for them to avoid places where there might be people who aren't...

Glad I'm not the only one! Just googled him and pretty sad to see how his career ended up, years of passing from club to club and not getting games.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Its staggering incompetence. If you emailed it went unread, if you phoned it went through to a washing machine repair centre in Cov. But lets blame the person who arranged his own, privately funded, charter to get out.
