    Things that annoy you

What does annoy me is when they don't differentiate between the men and the women. Couple of weekends ago people were banging on about the Manchester Derby. Thought it was odd they were playing when it was supposed to be the international break, it was a WSL fixture.

    Things that annoy you

I wouldn't be surprised if some deal was done behind the scenes so the FA could announce a big investment from Sky but in reality they've just knocked that amount of other rights, maybe the FA Cup. The broadcasting rights market is collapsing for everything apart from those at the very top who...

If you don't want to watch that you can always turn over, there's women's cricket on Sky Sports Cricket :)

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

The usual high quality journalism from the CT. An article headlined 'GP on how to tell the difference between the 'worst lurgy ever' and Covid' contains this stunning advise.

They aren't that uncommon and they're pretty old, and therefore relatively cheap, technology these days. There's a newer, faster, system that pours your pint in 5 seconds on the counter so the server doesn't even need to turn round and pick it up!

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

There's definitely something in the 'bad at interpreting information' thing. Remember when we all thought the problem was people not having access to information that was the issue? The internet has certainly shown that theory to be wrong. We've reached this bizarre situation where people just...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

What a horrific thing to happen. RIP. I don't know what the answer is but we need to dial things down. From the top down its now all about defending your chosen stance no matter what with no room for debate. We need to move away from cheap point scoring & looking to catch people out and somehow...

This may have changed as I don't tend to buy anything in the ground given the high cost, poor quality and massive queues but when I have in the past always amazed me that at peak periods, ie: half time, they were never prepared for a rush. Have pints poured ready to go as you do at music...

    DO NOT boo the knee

This isn't good. The National Police Chiefs Council's football lead wrote to all 92 clubs offering to work with clubs and players against online racist abuse. Of the 92 only 49 have said they are interested and even worse only 8 clubs have actioned anything. Figures for the PL are even worse...

    M25 blocking

Turns out the Climate Change Committee recommended, back in December 2020, a 20% reduction in meat & dairy consumption by 2030 but that target was rejected by the government.

Both great ideas so how does some idiot who is currently gluing themselves to the road go about achieving them?

You mean the road outside the east stand? That's always been an accident waiting to happen. Can they not adjust the gate out of the car park onto the A444 so it can also be used as an entrance? Given they don't direct people to empty spaces you tend to see car park A fill up first, if they're...

    M25 blocking

So what's the answer? There's been passive environmental protests since the 70s and as people on this thread are keen to point out they've achieved pretty much nothing. There's also been protests against countries at the top of the list for emissions and companies responsible for emissions...

Spoke to a friend that works on large events. This is called the flow rate and the industry standard is apparently 10 people per minute but 20 people per minute is not unachievable if you're not searching people. Apparently there are 45 turnstiles so, if you assume an even distribution of...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Same at mine, they removed it as they said it couldn't be used for booking phone appointments but surely its not a huge development job to sort that out given its a nationwide system. My surgery is pretty good at letting patients know what was going on and they admitted they had huge problems...

How many entrances are there? Pretty simple test. See how many people per minute you can get through the gate and then divide the expected crowd by the number of gates. Then you know how long it should take to get everyone in and if it takes longer something is wrong somewhere. Off the top of...
