    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

A very important point was made on the radio about comparing to last year. When looking at numbers in hospital & ICU you're comparing with an NHS that had basically shut down as much non-covid treatment as possible to enable them to cope with covid. Look at UHCW as an example So while its...

They'll have to play BCD, they aren't going to get kicked out of the league for that. Bit of a farce though if their supporters are then allowed to travel to away games.

People seem to have got it into their heads that this is only happening in the UK and everyone else is just cracking on like nothing has changed when pretty much the opposite is true. We relaxed things far more than anyone else to start off with. When speaking to ex-colleagues still working on...

PCR is the only one you're supposed to take with symptoms isn't it? Isn't the LFT for people without symptoms to check before they go somewhere?

    FA/Premier League meeting tomorrow

You don't think Sky, BT and Amazon who have been pushing the Christmas football program non-stop would have taken any interest in the possibility the games might be called off? You've got more faith in them than I have.

    Your Portfolio

Question for the experts on here. Been sorting out paperwork for my parents as my Dads in one of his 'I won't be here much longer you need to know where everything is' phases and for some random reason he's got 242 shares in M&S that he didn't know about. They're old paper shares and not worth...

    FA/Premier League meeting tomorrow

Didn't even get to a vote and clubs told if they've got 13 fit outfield players and a keeper they have to play. Hard not to imagine there's been some calls from Sky, BT and Amazon.

That's exactly what they're doing. According to Billboard no-shows are already running at 40% for concerts, that's in the US but you wouldn't expect it to be massively different here. How many of those people are going to be put off buying tickets for future events when they realise they don't...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Seen a couple of clips on YouTube of the new series and its terrible. Presume if its in the West End its not going to be a run of the same show as it will date quickly. Nice easy work for a writer to be employed for months to tweak the script to current events.

Not much we can do about it but not great that with a small squad we're going to get a pile up of fixtures through no fault of our own.

I certainly haven't read them all but I've modelling report I've looked at over the last 18 months of this mess has contained multiple scenarios. On pretty much every occasion all the headlines have only mentioned the worse case scenario.

The problem with claiming these are all work meetings is either people don't believe you or if they do believe you its the most unprofessional workplace in the country with seemingly daily breaks for cheese and wine.

Wasn't there a squad trip to UHCW for them to get jabbed? Seem to remember some press around that. Presumably then anyone who isn't jabbed is down to choice rather than them not having got round to it.

That just about sums it up. Need to bat through the last session and Butler has got himself out by treading on his stumps.

    FA/Premier League meeting tomorrow

If they did decide to stop surely they couldn't just try and cram the games in, they've have to add a few weeks to the end of the season. Can see a lot of pressure from Sky and BT being applied so will be interesting to see the outcome. Heard a similar discussion in another sport but the...

The next general election isn't due until May 2024. Its not inconceivable that they get rid of whoever replaces Johnson before then.
