I heard a story on Saturday that supposedly came from someone who lives close to, drinks and gambles with Venus. After a drinking session, he talked about having to work with 1/2 the budget of last year. Had lots of players lined up who would have joined, except the money offered is so poor...

Not quite the same chief, but when my son was 12 (he's 32 now) one of the their best players was poached by Chapelfield Colts. No money given, but he had a new tracksuit, kit bag and boots all given to him. They did have a good team, not surprisingly, as all their team were other teams best...

And in later teens, the colliers was also a good place to get a packet of 3 from ;) Could pop into the loo (machine on the wall) without going in the pub if you were in a hurry......, or have to suffer the embarrassment at the chemists.. Used to use the Acorn too Otis, some of my pals...

I do have a nickname for her, but she is aware of it. I call her "my first wife" Keeps her on her toes.. ;) Truth be told, I wouldn't want to try to train a new one at my age...
