    New header

I don't think Le Tissier played after we lost 0-1 to Italy in a world cup qualifier in 1997 where he was made the scapegoat for a poor performance in a new 343 formation yet McMananam who was as ineffective continued to be picked.

What are you currently listening to?

My friend has seen Limehouse Lizzy loads of time and he says that they are very good and as Thin Lizzy are his favourite band and he saw the real thing on every UK tour they did that is a good enough recommendation for me. He told me they were talking at work about the best band made up by any...

    Coventry transfer deadline day

Yes you're right about Stoke. Another home defeat as we slid down the league after christmas.

    Coventry transfer deadline day

I think you're right. I am sure it was a windy day blowing from the West End and he had launched a few that made it all the way to our goal before he scored. I don't think Avramovic payed for us again after that

    Coventry transfer deadline day

Raddy Avramovic was 33/34 when he joined us in 1983 and he was shocking

    Coventry transfer deadline day

Yes but not him. Whilst he is a good footballer he is a thug and has had plenty of troubles in and out of football including headbutting an Elvis impersonator on a night out in Dublin

What are you currently listening to?

Had to go into Stirling whilst my son was football training so I popped into Sainsburys to kill some time. They had a load of greatest hits CD's for under a fiver and I couldn't resist Waiting for an Alibi by Thin Lizzy for £3. I already have a couple of their albums, Live & Dangerous on CD and...

    Biggest Transfer Shock

Marsden seem to lose his way at Wolves, not sure if he was injured, but was very good at Southampton and was a consistent performer for them in the PL. Robertson was very poor, not sure what happened but he wasn't with us very long

    Another confessions time anyone??

Weren't fishymores and SkyBlueScotland the same guy? He was a very angry man!! Used to love citizens_arrest, many of his comments made me laugh out loud

    Another confessions time anyone??

I like Sunderland more than Newcastle and I don't mind Aston Villa. I hate Leicester though!! I nearly voted Conservative at the last election to try & stop the SNP candidate winning but my conscience wouldn't let me. The Conservative won anyway which strangely made me very happy.

    Biggest Transfer Shock

It was Wolves but it was soon forgotten when we splashed out £250K on Sandy Robertson

    Biggest Transfer Shock

I know the season before he was injured at the start and then we picked Rousell to play with Keane. It was a shock to me that we sold him 2 weeks before the start of the season just after selling Keane, maybe he wanted to move back up north. I am not sure when Bellamy came in.

    Biggest Transfer Shock

Not buying Chris Marsden & selling Noel Whelan not long after we had sold Robbie Keane.

    Nations league

Surely the worst offenders were Poland. They hardly played any friendlies, just qualifying & tournament games and they were ranked 6th in the world for the World Cup draw although they have now dropped to 7th after drawing and losing 2 friendlies. The Nations League will now ensure they play at...

    Jury service

I had to go when I lived in Inverness but wasn't selected and was free to go after about 4 hours, it was a strange few hours. There was about 30 of us and from that they drew our names out of the hat for the jury of 15 and those 15 had to go and were told details of the case, defendant etc to...

What important, or great goals have you missed over the years?

Wasn't that the year that they were redeveloping Upton Park? A new stand was being built at 1 and maybe both ends and we were housed in the top level of a stand and the segregation between us and the West Ham fans was a couple of empty and maybe some netting. I was sitting very close to the Wet...

What important, or great goals have you missed over the years?

I have only left a game early twice and missed a goal both times. The first was against Middlesboro in 76/77 when the lads I went with got fed up of their negative offside tactics and convinced me to leave with about 10 minutes to go and Alan Green equalised with a couple of minutes to go. The...

The worst gig you have ever been to...

Back in the late 80s my mate sometime used to get me tickets for gigs at the NEC without asking if I was interested and I had the "pleasure" of going to see Motley Crue and Dave Lee Roth. I nearly sold the ticket for Dave Lee Roth to someone outside but my mate wasn't happy so I had to endure 2...
