    General Election

I wouldn't trust teachers to tell the truth. When sats were introduced, the school my son was at had a parents evening to explain it all. More like to whinge about it all, and to cap it off, they lied to us when expressing how much extra work it was for them. Each teacher stood up and gave his...

    General Election

So, what's the odds on a Labour win tonight/tomorrow? Wonder what the odds were on Brexit, Trump and Labour all to win? I'm losing 2 nil at the moment on my selections... :emoji_open_mouth:

Blimey, the Coventry Blitz was in 1940, and we still get sensitive about it if other fans reference it as a joke... ;)

    General Election

I think his past regarding the IRA speaks for itself if you look at the facts, and yet people are trying to excuse him from it in some way. Whether he or May would be the better PM I have no idea, but I can't vote for him. Maybe it's because I'm old enough to remember the bombings and murders...

    General Election

Yep, that's what used to happen. Shop and office floor. Wandering round suggesting as "union" men we should be doing everything we can to support Labour, so "get your arses to the rally"

    General Election

I would say the Tories have tried very hard to lose, it's a question of if they've tried hard enough or not?

    General Election

Maybe. Although back in the day, the union reps were tasked with going round their members coercing (suggesting?) people to go attend these types of rallies.

    General Election

Not at all strange. As a union member, and a union rep back in the day, I saw first hand the "shepherding" of large numbers of people to events like that. Nothing wrong with it of course. You saw it in the Scots independence vote from the SNP. (Although they would also "shepherd" large numbers...

    Things that annoy you

I got one specifically for a driving holiday to Southern Italy. my logic was it's easier to show a video of events if necessary rather than have to argue with someone who doesn't speak English. As it turned out, didn't need it there, but did back in the UK... (a near miss thankfully) Edited to...

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

tbf, i emailed him last year about something and he responded reasonably quickly. but, to answer your point, i'm not going to bother emailing anyone else. I'll see how I feel over the next few weeks, maybe things might change.
