Now you’re just being ridiculous.
One, it’s not a crime to mutter under your breath that you want to kill someone. Inciting violence by having a public call for the slitting of throats is, the same as planning to set fire to an Islamic centre.
Are you a lawyer? Or from a law background?
A councillor who would have more influence than most got on a microphone telling people to slit throats… I don’t care who the audience are.
Was he guilty in your eyes?
I absolutely do. I am also confident the media witch hunt and the condemnation of his actions would have been much more severe and would probably have influenced the jury’s decision.
Surely, you cannot seriously say that what he did was not inciting violence? How a jury can watch that video and...
Agreed he deserved to be sent down. Do you not agree that the child groomer, which I don’t think anyone can argue, is just as awful, should have been sent down too?
I agree there’s a difference.
But by your reckoning, he deserved jail regardless of how he plead? I would argue that being a important figure in your community, with significant influence and shouting for people to slit throats is much worse, imo
Maybe being labelled far right by people like you and our government, even though my political views are clearly centre, makes me view things that way?
