    The World Cup Thread

I don't know what was worse, Dier's performance or Clive Tydlesley commentary, he truly is an awful commentator with his comment in the first half about best memories always come from world cups the most inane one

    Becoming a Sky Blue

We moved to Rugby from Stoke Aldermoor in 1967 but my mum & dad had no real interest in football but as they were both from Coventry and my grandparents still lived in Green Lane & Styechale that was enough for me to start following around 1970. My older brother ended up supporting Leicester...

    Best concert you've been to?

I saw Thin Lizzy on the Renegade tour at de Montfort Hall and only went cause someone couldn't go on the day, they were fantastic. Also saw Gary Moore at the NEC and I have never seen a group enjoy themselves so much. Evanescence in Glasgow in may backed by a full orchestra, I was amazed at how...

    Selling concert tickets

I've just said it's a paper ticket and will arrange to meet a buyer at the venue. Just got to wait for my wife to come home so I can use her paypal account. I'm with you, I don't like to see tickets sold above face value, on some sites I have seen £90-100 tickets at nearly £300 each. I'm going...

The other thing is they want me to download the e-ticket I have but the pdf I have has both tickets on it and I cannot edit it. It would be good to be...

    Travel insurance with cancer

I am sure the E11 card covers basic needs and there are costs on top for extra specialist treatment. I think I will also need extra insurance cover as in the event that he falls ill I may need cover to come home too

    Travel insurance with cancer

I did an online quote with insureandgo and when I answered the screening questions it said cover was not available so I rang and they have offered cover subject to my friend being fully screened for £247. I know it's not going to be £15 like mine but I wasn't expecting it to be as high as that...

What's the shorest length of time you have ever spent in a town or city?

My son's just joined the cadets so I had to take him to get some boots from a shop in Glasgow. The shop is next to Queen Street station so we got the train, went to the shop & bought the boots and whilst in there we could hear music from outside so I asked the guy in the shop & he said it was...

    Pet insurance

We were with pet-insurance.co.uk and they initially were well priced and paid out no trouble after the sudden death of 1 of our springer's in 2010 and when the other one snapped her cruciate in 2011 which cost over £3,000!! Her premium doubled the next year but was still only £22 every 28 days...

Turning up early and getting it wrong!

Just remembered that 3 of us went down to watch Newcastle play Wimbledon in the League Cup at Plough Lane in the late 1980's. We struggled through London and finally got to the ground with about 30 minutes gone and they had shut the away turnstiles. There must have been about 100 Newcastle fans...

Turning up early and getting it wrong!

We were on the A1 just before Scotch Corner when we heard it had been called off so we just turned around and headed home. There was a story that there were some of our fans at the stadium when it was called off and the Newcastle chairman, John Hall?, took them into hospitality and bought them...
