The Christmas cracker ! Slashed prices

Wasn't going to this - but will do now - will persuade the lad to come along too!

Going out of the cup doesn't matter to me one bit

It gave TM a chance see where our issues are - and he concentrated on this in his comments after the game. Disappointing to lose in the way we did i.e. poor goals and little attacking threat. In a "normal" season, i would be pretty gutted, especially losing to Northampton where I have the...

    Youth cup

I left Cov before senior school age, but did anyone ever make the ggrade from St Augustines Catholic Primary in Radford? I went to the same seniior Schol as Sean Dyche (who was a fat little ginger kid who lived round the corner back i the day) - Henry Gotch free-for-all comprehensive in Kettering

    Northampton Town FC - SAVETHECOBBLERS

And meanwhile Cardoza's new house is being built on the edge of Northampton! They really are in the mire - I know plenty of season ticket holders who feel that this may well be it for them, although there is talk of a takeover from the former Oxford Chairman who did a good job there...

    Gentleman's Hobbies...what, what...

Having a 9 year old lad helps. so well into the Lego.Unfortunately he makes it all himself now, so I have turned to Airfix kits (when I am not cooking and walking). The Bismarck is in dry dock now, and there is an excellent model shop in Northampton, so another trip beckons!

    Gentleman's Hobbies...what, what...

Golf, strangling animals and masterbation - although I expect the interest in golf to wane at some stage! Edit: On a more serious note - walking (have I spelt that right?) and cooking - although not at the same time.

We are not on telly for - yet

Luckily Wasps have come to the rescue! Some mates here in sunny Northampton who are Cobblers season ticket holders are just hoping that the Club lasts long enough to fulfill the fixture! A bit of gallows humour never hurt us in our darker (slightly) days either.

We are not on telly for - yet

Looks like it may be a traditional Saturday 3pm for the Cobblers game in the Cup. TV games have gone for Salford, Didicot, FC Mancs of Utd (or whatever they are called. Edit: For..... the FA Cup

    The Gigs Thread

Saw the Shedders 4 times back in the day - great live band. Spot of Pulp was always in order, as well as Echo and the Bunnymen.

Yes - I have heard this one, and wish it were true (didn't John Bishop us it once?) - I expect Syria to get a mention or two.

Quite like Yo La Tengo. Gideon Coe always plays them on 6Music. Missed Johnny Marr at the Roadmender in Northampton last week - great venue, and apparently he was very good. Going to see U2 on Thursday at the O2, Not seen them for 28 years. Looking forward to the music - not so much the...

    Cup draw

I don't want to mention the W word, but Wasps are at "home" on the Sunday. Can't see it being the Friday as there are some good ties for telly, such as Salford, Didcot and FC United of Manchester. Saturday it is then! Also, I have had some requests already for info on best pubs for carrot...

    Coventry parkrun

Used to do the Northampton one until my knee gave up the ghost. Good fun and you get timed too, so something to train for. About 250 -300 there each week, and you can always travel to other Park run sites. Hopefully will give a go again soon

England U21's - no alcohol served in the ground

Didn't drink it mate - plenty of other options to get sauced up in the hours leading up the game! I learned that Croatians enjoy a few gargles before a game too!

England U21's - no alcohol served in the ground

Went to Euros in Poland to watch Ireland, and all they had on sale in the ground was 1% alcohol Carlsberg. WAs the same for qualifiers at Lansdowne - I didn't bother. All a bit odd really

    Michael O'Neill

Well done to Norn Iron Just shows that there are 2 teams in Ireland after all! Hopefully win in Poland on Sunday (or a 2-2 draw) and we don't have to face play off hell!
